Plot[edit] The anime covers a small portion of the life of the timid, shy, Shiina Tsubasa, a grade schooler who is forced to move to Hokkaidō from Tokyo with her father as he pursues his dream of becoming a baker. At her new school, she is so shy and unsociable that her classmates ignore her at best, and abuse her inability to defend herself at worst. But her life changes when an alien spaceship comes crashing down to earth in the forest behind her house. Now and Then, Here and There follows a young boy named Shuzo "Shu" Matsutani who, in an attempt to save an unknown girl, is transported to another world which is possibly the Earth in the far future.
The world is desolate and militarized, and water is a scarce commodity. Plot[edit] While walking home from a somewhat bad, but regular day of school, "Shu", the main protagonist, spots a girl on top of a smoke stack in an industrial park where he used to hang out as a young child. Shuzo tries numerous attempts to communicate with the young girl but she acts emotionless and quiet, and hardly acknowledges his presence.
Shu is trapped in this new, harsh reality, and he is beaten and interrogated repeatedly inside the warship commanded by the ruthless, manic dictator, Hamdo. From the start, the series may seem lighthearted in nature, but this is far from the truth. Plot[edit] The story is set in Japan beginning from the 1990s and ending in modern day, with each act centered on a boy named Takaki Tōno. The first act takes place during a time when cell phones are uncommon and email has not yet reached the general population.
Act 1: Cherry Blossom[edit] Takaki Tōno quickly befriends Akari Shinohara when she transfers to his elementary school. They grow closer to each other due to similar interests and attitudes; for instance, they both prefer to stay inside during recess due to their seasonal allergies. As a result, they form a strong bond; they speak to each other using their given names without any form of honorifics, which is a sign of deep friendship and familiarity in Japan. Upon graduating from elementary school, Akari moves to Tochigi, due to her parents' jobs.
Act 2: Cosmonaut[edit] Takaki is now in the third year of senior high in Tanegashima, where the Tanegashima Space Center is located. Act 3: 5 Centimeters Per Second[edit] It is 2008.
Gakuen Alice. Plot[edit] Mikan Sakura grew up with her grandfather on the countryside of Japan. When her best friend, Hotaru, transfers to a prestigious school in Tokyo, Mikan follows her. The school is actually an elite Academy for gifted people with "Alices," an ability that is unique depending on the individual being.
Once Mikan arrives to the gates of the school, she encounters an Alice teacher named Narumi, gets enrolled due to a series of events, and is told that she possesses a rare Alice. Despite her initial view of the so-called greatness to the school, Mikan slowly discovers that beneath the grand facade of the Academy, there is a never-ending stream of lies and buried secrets. The school's increasingly manipulative and sinister actions towards her make it a dangerous place to be. Differences between manga and anime[edit] The anime episodes are similar to the first 28 manga chapters, but some events are changed or combined.
