Walton was in the living room watching TV when the lights "get real hot then get real dim," he said, then he heard a crackling noise. He rushed to get two of the adult dogs out of the house. Walton said he was worried the puppies might die, as they were in the basement not far from the fire. At about 9:30 a.m. today, after firefighters had cleared the scene, Walton had several of the puppies wrapped in a big blanket.
