We’re nuts for nuts. Is there a more versatile and inexpensive DIY component than a hex nut from the hardware store? You can imagine our excitement when we first discovered Philip Crangi’s Giles & Brother Hex Collection. Honestly, nuts braided into jewelry is WTF genius! With a few items that we always seem to have lying around, we tackled the technique and made our own spine-like braided hex nut wrap bracelet. You’ll need:3 strands of cotton butcher’s twine cut into one yard pieces18 small brass hex nutsa bit of dexterity!

Gather the 3 strands of twine and tie a knot at the top, leaving about 2 inches of slack. Start braiding. Keep your thumb at the base of the braid, holding the nut in its place. Repeat the steps, by threading the rest of the nuts to the outer pieces of twine before they are crossed over. The bracelet should wrap around your wrist at least two or three times. Good luck!! Interview action plan « Interview Your Best. Implement Your Skills and Experience As part of a sales presentation, a salesperson tells the customer how the product or service will be implemented: “Once you sign the contract, the first thing we’ll do is x, and this should be completed in y days.”

This helps the customer understand and visualize how the service will begin to provide value. A good implementation plan includes a number of steps or goals and a timeline. You’re selling your services- do you present an implementation plan? Almost all candidates ignore how they will begin their employment, assuming that implementation is up to the employer. Philosophy since the Enlightenment, by Roger Jones. Harry Frankfurt's "On Bullshit". One of the most salient features of our culture is that there is so much bullshit. Everyone knows this. Each of us contributes his share. But we tend to take the situation for granted. Most people are rather confident of their ability to recognize bullshit and to avoid being taken in by it.

So the phenomenon has not aroused much deliberate concern, or attracted much sustained inquiry. In consequence, we have no clear understanding of what bullshit is, why there is so much of it, or what functions it serves. And we lack a conscientiously developed appreciation of what it means to us. Another worthwhile source is the title essay in The Prevalence of Humbug by Max Black. Humbug: deceptive misrepresentation, short of lying, especially by pretentious word or deed, of somebody’s own thoughts, feelings, or attitudes.

A very similar formulation might plausibly be offered as enunciating the essential characteristics of bullshit. Deceptive misrepresentation: This may sound pleonastic. A Question for Philosophically Inclined Mathematicians. Friday Given the astonishing yet demonstrable consequence of the Banach-Tarski paradox, it is the sort of thing that one’s mind returns to on a regular basis in order to savor the intellectual satisfaction of it. The unnamed author of the Layman’s Guide to the Banach-Tarski Paradox explains the paradox thus: The paradox states that it is possible to take a solid sphere (a “ball”), cut it up into a finite number of pieces, rearrange them using only rotations and translations, and re-assemble them into two identical copies of the original sphere.

In other words, you’ve doubled the volume of the original sphere. The whole of the entry at Wolfram Mathworld runs as follows: First stated in 1924, the Banach-Tarski paradox states that it is possible to decompose a ball into six pieces which can be reassembled by rigid motions to form two balls of the same size as the original. The number of pieces was subsequently reduced to five by Robinson (1947), although the pieces are extremely complicated. Essence and Personality. The ideas discussed here are ancient (this is the "map of pre-sand Egypt" G. mentioned). It seems indisputable, to those who have verified some of the truths and natures of essence, that there was a certain area of ancient knowledge that was far superior to our modern knowledge.

This was in the area of what we today call psychology, although the western science of psychology is so crude that it is considered a "soft" science. Ancient psychology, however, should not be considered "objective science" in the way western science uses those words today, because it necessarily requires a high degree of "art" or intuition (use of the the intellectual part of the emotional center, to get technical.) Whereas our "Western" knowledge has been acquired experimentally, ancient knowledge was acquired experientially.

Part of our work is to connect experimental knowledge with experiential knowledge. Essence Aspects of Essence Personality Personality is acquired during life. The Path of Development. Raptitude.com – Getting Better at Being Human.
