Mascara wooden house by mA-style architects. Part of this wooden house in Japan by mA-style architects is lifted off the ground and curved like the hull of a boat (+ slideshow). Glass screens on opposite sides of the living room separate the level floor surface from the curved outer edges, creating balconies that double up as sun loungers. Positioned at the building's centre, the room is sandwiched between a pair of narrow two-storey wings that contain the other rooms of the two-bedroom family home.

A kitchen and dining room are located in the east wing, where a ridged wooden ceiling arches up around the edges of the children's bedroom above. The master bedroom and bathroom occupy the two floors of the opposite wing, which is only just wide enough to fit a double bed inside. Entrances to the house are positioned on both sides of this wing and lead in through a concealed porch. DCPP ARQUITECTOS - Project - Calero House. The plot had an existing construction made out of brick and tile, which had to be respected. The new proposal had to be solved with the minimum materials, minimum cost, and the minimum elements. The project was conceived under the premise of reusing the necessary elements to materialize an architectural construction, in this case the centering wood. The remainder material becomes the construction itself and is treated and used with honesty, it is reused but not modified. Kamogawa House. S11 House / ArchiCentre. The existing old house on the site was built in the early 1960’s and had become dilapidated and run-down over the years. A new green tropical house was planned for the site and conceptualized along the lines of a tree. The large tree canopy would cover and shelter the living spaces underneath it. Åre Solbringen. For this site which has good view, we put two “frames”. One is vertical frame at east. The other is horizontal frame at west. I have an idea that the residence should be a one room. Concretely, we use wooden frame which use auxiliary as window or door frame. Archdaily. Compared with the normal internal restructuring manners prevalent at 798, the reconstruction will make use of the opportunity to reconsider relationship between art and commerce and their future trend. This is the start of how we set out on this project. “798 3.0” / Reconsideration of Relationship between Art and Commerce Hollow Tree Structure In this project, the structural relationship will be a kind of hollow tree structure. Collaborators: Hideyuki Hagiuda A site is a city area in Asahikawa-shi, Hokkaido, Japan. When considering the house built on the heavy snowfall background of the arctic cold which will be midwinter-20 ℃, we paid our attention to “snow” and a “roof.” Although the proposal with various roof forms of a snowy country residence is made, generally, only equipment and cost are considered and it is hardly related to the “space” in which people live. "A key part of the brief was to house the client's extensive collection of books," Platform 5's Patrick Michell told Dezeen. "We proposed a double-height library wrapped around a stair. " The oak bookcases stagger up around the edge of the stairwell, finishing at a first-floor study space that cantilevers out over the room below. "The dramatic space was perfect for a small desk perched off the landing, with views to the floor below and out through the window," said Michell. Platform 5 Architects also added an extension to the kitchen, doubling the size of the space to accommodate a new dining area with an exposed brick wall.

Our objective was to create a quiet dwelling that preserves a meaningful connection with its landscape and with its historic settlement.

The “obvious” location for the house might have been a hill overlooking the landscape, but the visual presentation from this site would have been overwhelmed by the road and by neighbouring houses. MSB Architects - Project - Balancal House. This house is situated on a very striking slope, and the house had to be designed in order to reduce the environmental impact on the landscape.

We had to define the threshold and the other implantation quota in connection with the other surrounding buildings. Those made us think the best lay out possible for the house. So we favoured the privacy, the view on Funchal bay, to obtain a maximum sun expose. We managed to establish a harmony between the big differences of level of the different houses respecting the natural landscape. Costa Esmeralda House.
