13 sites to get your creative juices flowing | dreambeaker
Today I thought I’d share something a little different, and hopefully useful for all you fellow dreamers- a list of some of the websites I’ve found that exude creative coolness or spark inspiration in some way. Some are well known and fun, others may be helpful or quietly inspiring. I hope these suggestions spark your creativity as they do mine! 1. My first recommendation is Moo. If you’re in the market for some really eye-popping business cards, stickers, etc. and you haven’t checked out Moo yet, DO!Open Culture
Today we’re bringing you a roundup of some of the great Science Fiction, Fantasy and Dystopian classics available on the web. And what better way to get started than with Aldous Huxley reading a dramatized recording of his 1932 novel, Brave New World . The reading aired on the CBS Radio Workshop in 1956.Los fabulosos Greta y Lizandro de Cool Hunting Project estuvieron de visita en mi taller. Conversamos largo rato, conocieron a mis inseparables amigos los perros y se acercaron a mi vida cotidiana como diseñadora. Les dejo el link de la entrevista completa y el resultado en video. Disfrútenlo.

EMPTY KINGDOM TOP 100 Artists of 2011 | EMPTY KINGDOM You are Here, We are Everywhere
As with last year , this years “Top 100” was compiled by three of our authors ( Konahrtist , okmarzo , and Bunnyman ), so we fully acknowledge this list is totally unfair and does not in any way reflect a “real” sampling of the “best” work on the site, since there is no real and fair way to judge such a thing. Think of the Top 100 as simply a reflection of the personal taste of three people who lovingly took it upon themselves to spend the time to put a list together of the work they personally enjoyed throughout the year. But please know our taste and editorial control is so strict that just being featured on the site at all means we automatically love you and your work, period. And there were many of you we fought for individually, but just couldn’t place without unanimous consent, so our heart goes out to you. Last year we left the 100th spot open to honor all the artists who thought they should have been on the list but were not.The Animation for Cartoonists class at the Center for Cartoon Studies was a great success!

The Fox Is Black
I think what’s particularly delightful about this small, boxy Police Station designed by Klein Dytham is that it turns the ubiquitous parapet into a kind of urban-scaled optic toy. The tall, white wall around the roof of the project is punctuated with cutouts that let folks walking or driving by the station see the shifting spectrum of colors painted behind the perforated wall. The project is appropriately extroverted (who really wants to spend too much time inside a police station?) and is as clever as any of Klein Dytham’s best projects. The wall cantilevers over one side of the project to make a shaded parking space for the patrol car and when the sunlight shines through the wall, it casts a punctuated shadow on the ground. Who knew a parapet could do all that?Dear Members of the Cult of Done,

Hello You Creatives
The Advertising & Brand Communication students from UCA have been pitching a little differently recently… In order to raise the funds for their upcoming degree show ( The Orchard ) the third year class of ABC created an event in order to raise their money. The event: “The Pitch” was held last week and saw Advertising Agencies and Advertising students from across the country playing against one another in a football tournament.More Intelligent Life
The select club of Formula 1 champions who retired, then returned, now has a new member.Nike is extending the “Now Is My Time” campaign with “Nike Barbershop”, an integrated advertising campaign featuring Italian footballer Mario Balotelli receiving a hair cut in a traditional Barbershop accompanied by French player Mamadou Sakho and Argentine star Javier Pastore. Asked by the Barber what he’d like Balotelli simply replies “to be remembered.” A series of styles rapidly take shape on the sharp shooters head but nothing works until an artistically crafted Mohawk gets the nod from Balotelli.
