Lyndon has emailed to ask about reusing – or recycling – propane gas canisters (the ones for heating, barbecues or patio heaters etc): Trying to tidy up the yard at work, what can I do with some old gas bottles? If there is a company name on the bottles (like Calor Gas, Flo Gas or TotalGaz – to name but three), the safest/laziest thing might be to contact them to see if they could pick them up – gas bottles get reused again and again by gas supply companies and if the canisters are still in reusable condition, they might be more than willing to take them off your hands and put them back into circulation.

by Guest Contributor Anna Gay Photographers are often striving for a “vintage” look in their photos, and even though there are endless ways of achieving a vintage look, there are a couple of characteristics to keep in mind. First of all, the color tones in a vintage photo often lean towards either a blue or a red hue, or a cross-processed look. Vintage photos also have an element of noise or grain that can be achieved through textures, and also a certain amount of vignetting around the edges of the photo. In this tutorial, we will look at adjusting color tones and adding vignettes. This photo is the result of adjusting the color curves, adding two vignettes, and a color fill, which we will walk through step-by-step.

You gotta love Real Simple for all of their easy, breezy DIY projects and organization tips! All you need to complete this clever little project are some old books (pretty ones are a plus!), some hardware and a drill. I love the colorful books they used and all of the interesting "found" objects neatly displayed. In case anyone would like to take a stab at this project, I've included the instructions below.
Hi, This is my first attempt at making a template, so apologies if it's not quite up to standards! This form fits on a 3 x 5 card, and allows you to track your food intake for different calorie levels by x'ing boxes to represent portions of different foods. Standard portions according to the Diabetic Assoc'n guidelines were used to match the different calorie levels; distribution of food types for different calorie levels is as per "Weight No More," a program that I took at a local hospital. I'm attaching three files - the open office source, a "3 x 5" pdf that contains one landscaped image for printing directly to index cards, and a "cardstock" pdf that contains 6 forms. Print two-sided on cardstock and cut them apart; the images line up on top of each other back-to-back.

Well folks, not much going on this week. I’m still 800 million degrees, which I guess is normal if you’re a human incubator. I’ve become a stretchy, elastic waisted pants spokesperson, because ohmygah maternity jeans are the most incredible thing I have ever worn , excepting for the sweat pants I model almost daily. (Seriously, they need to make jeans this comfortable for non-knocked up folks.) The weather has suddenly de-humidified itself and is now safe for this 800 million degree gal to go outside and actually enjoy it .

This is the second to last post from the bridal shower...I'm excited to start sharing some recipes I've been making recently since we've moved into our apartment! In my OWN kitchen!Two things were established when I produced my first ever batch of cupcakes for sale last week - I would eat my client's request and send them a couple of cupcakes short. Having been told this, you'd probably forget about ever commissioning any baked goods from me but I had good reasons to deliver my friend 58 cupcakes instead of the 60 I promised. Despite being thought of as the baker/cake lady/dessert girl amongst friends with much (uninformed) confidence in my many follies around flour, butter and sugar, I've really only ever made this cupcake and several other cupcake-convertible cakes . With such a limited repertoire I decided to venture a little and convinced my uninitiated customer to accept this new-to-me white cake to make up one half of her order. Known to be the most popular cupcake at New York City's Magnolia Bakery , the recipe was already next in line on my baking schedule.
