We offer our interns excellent exposure, experience and education, while learning from them as our consumers and future business leaders. The Ferguson Group, LLC (TFG), headquartered in Washington, DC, is a bipartisan government relations consulting firm which represents the largest number of local governments.

The Ferguson Group’s Internship Program

TFG offers a unique internship program allowing dedicated individuals the opportunity to learn and work directly with the firm’s lobbying team on a wide variety of substantive issues. TFG’s internship program is different from other internships in numerous ways. Our congenial atmosphere provides the space and opportunity for burgeoning careers to develop. TFG partners specialize in a wide variety of issue areas, and understand the gamut of perspectives from Capitol Hill to local municipalities. We create a challenging and interesting experience for our interns. Interns at TFG primarily assist firm lobbyists and staff on short-term to medium-length projects. In 2013-2014, we anticipate selecting 1-2 interns for the summer, fall, and spring seasons. Critical Language Scholarship Program.

Amy Herrmann, a 2010 CLS participant in Morocco, gets help from a local merchant during a “Tangier Tuesday” activity. The Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Program provides overseas foreign language instruction and cultural enrichment experiences in 13 critical need languages for U.S. students in higher education. The CLS Program is part of a U.S. government effort to expand dramatically the number of Americans studying and mastering critical need foreign languages. Undergraduate, master's and doctoral-level students of diverse disciplines and majors are encouraged to apply for the seven-to-10-week-long programs. Participants are expected to continue their language study beyond the scholarship period, and later apply their critical language skills in their future professional careers. As the principal point of contact for the Department of Justice with the news media, the office is responsible for ensuring that the public is informed about the department’s activities, and the priorities and policies of the Attorney General with regard to law enforcement and legal affairs. The Office of Public Affairs offers three internship programs as follows: Media Affairs Internship: The media affairs intern will assist press officers with telephone calls from national news media, gather news clips, assist with interviews and press conferences, edit and issue news releases on a variety of topics, as well as other duties as assigned. Foreign Service. Eligibility: The minimum-age requirement for the position is 18, but most FSJ interns are college juniors or seniors. Current graduate students and applicants who have graduated from college within the past year are also eligible to apply, though preference will generally be given to undergraduates. International students are welcome to apply if they have native-level fluency in English. Interns need to be hard-working, dependable and detail-oriented, and must have good editing and writing skills.
