Doggy Coats - Martha Stewart Pets

Francesca and Sharkey approved! My water-resistant doggy coats are well fitted, adjustable, and comfortable. DIY Monday: Fabric Journals

I am so excited to share with you this simple and super fun idea for covering journals.... step 1: choose some fabric that you love! I buy almost all my fabric from etsy.com (search under 'supplies'). i love vintage sheets (like these), cute japanese patterns, and random designer patterns. you'll also need a couple moleskine journals (or any paper covered journal... and of course, you can always DIY your own from scratch if you like). i like large journals with unlined pages for sketching!

Step 2: iron your fabric. you won't want any wrinkles on your book cover. :) (lay your journals under something heavy for about 10 minutes while the glue dries) step 4: trim the fabric right up to the edge of your journals. (pretty scraps... i thought they needed their own photo.) step 5: add machine or hand stitching to add extra durability to the edges of your journal. this step is optional! Yay! First, use a disappearing pen to draw a cute mustache on the top of your journal. ta-da! DIY with Bookhou: Perfect Bound.

By Arounna Khounnoraj of bookhou I wanted to do a project using some vintage wallpaper I had kicking around. If you like, this project is also good for recycling and reusing some other types of papers. This project is fun and fast and makes great gifts or for your own use. what you need: -paper for the cover (I used wallpaper - you can experiment with different weights and thickness) -small piece of craft paper (2.5 x 5 in.) for the spine -recycled bond paper for the inside of the book (cut to 4 x 5 in.) approx 60 sheets -cutting mat -exacto knife -two large clips -two pieces of thin wood 1 x 6 in. -brush -white glue step 1: after your paper has been cut to size stack the papers together with the covers on the outside - place the two pieces of wood on the outside and place a clip on the top.

Step 2: place another clip on the side and proceed to brush the glue on the edge of the book. it's good to let it dry in between layers - I put on four layers.
