The best ever garlic bread with coriander and Parmesan. I take garlic bread quite seriously, and if it’s perfectly made it becomes one of the foods I simply cannot resist. A while ago I came across an article on the Guardian UK blog about how to make a perfect garlic bread. From the start the authors musings about this irresistible snack totally resonated with me. I agreed with everything she said. She had done thorough research into a range of recipes by popular celebrity cooks and compared them all against each other. She clearly is as into garlic bread as I am. While each of the offerings by Nigella, Jamie, Nigel and Ina had their merits, she finally settled on what she perceived to be her perfect baked garlic bread and I totally agreed with her in every way.

I decided to test this recipe using coriander (cilantro) instead of parsley because I know what that tastes like. You can read the brilliant article by Felicity Cloake here. The other adjustment I made was I used a baguette vs the ciabatta loaf she recommends. My verdict: Like this: Petite Lasagnas. Recipe slightly adapted from Hungry Girl (makes 12) 12 oz raw ground turkey ¼ tsp salt, divided ¼ tsp pepper 1 cup chopped onion ½ cup chopped mushrooms. Homemade Baked Mozzarella Sticks. Scalloped Hasselback Potatoes

When I hear it I think of several things: first, there’s scallops, as in the seafood—totally delicious. Then there’s the scalloped shape that can live on the edge of a pair of shorts or on the collar of a woman’s blouse—always pretty and dainty. And of course scalloped potatoes also comes to mind, which carries my imagination to a land of crispy potato skins drenched in a sea of cheese and cream. I can think of no better place to exist, actually.

So when I came across TK member Shelbi Keith’s recipe for Scalloped Hasselback Potatoes, I knew we were going to become fast friends. The first players up are: a few Russet potatoes (I’m sure other varieties will work equally as well), Parmigiano-Reggiano and butter. Start by scrubbing your potatoes good and clean. Then, using a sharp knife, make slices across the potato, being sure to stop before you reach its bottom. Cut up your butter. A Guest Post from Authentic Suburban Gourmet. A Guest Post from Authentic Suburban Gourmet

Over time, virtual friends have developed into real life friends, and I have come to truly value their support and their love of food. I have invited some to gather at my virtual Friendsgiving table, where they share some of their fondest Thanksgiving memories. My first guest is my dear friend, Lisa, of Authentic Suburban Gourmet. Lisa lives not too far from me and offers some of the most amazing recipes on her site. About a month ago Liren asked me if I wanted to contribute a guest post and be part of her “Friendsgiving” series. Last holiday season, I had a dinner party with Liren and Jean (Lemons and Anchovies) and gave each of them my Cranberry, Orange & Ginger Chutney. As the saying goes – “It is the most wonderful time of the year”. Overall, I look forward to simply hanging out with the entire family.
