Druidic Mystical Practice Pt 2. I feel like I witnessed quite a large segment of the evolution of 'Grounding and Centering' as a part of Neopagan ritual. When I began working Pagan and magical rites we really had no such practice, and Wiccan groups before, say, 1980 seldom had any formal moment of 'induction' of energy flows (or trance) as part of their ritual outline. Of course the classic Circle Casting is itself a detailed centering rite - if approached with any heightened awareness at all it is a solid spiritual ritual. The problem was that the system had no guaranteed way of producing that heightened awareness. That began to change as Pagans adapted techniques from western and eastern systems. By the middle of the 1980s some form of formal trance induction, usually involving personal empowerment and/or attunement to 'spiritual energies' was standard in neopagan rites.

ADF's "Two Powers" model grows from these sources, on a practical level. In this exercise the goal is similar to Open Meditation. On to pt 3. A Spell for Fast Cash-flow. Choose an object as the talisman of the spell. Best is a piece of real silver, but a silver-colored dime, quarter or dollar can work as well.

Hold the talisman in your right hand, as you recite the charm and work the vision of the spell, thus: The Charm:Flow the riches of the riverGlitt’ring gold plucked freeWealth arises from the watersFrom the deeps it flows to meFire to form it, shape it shiningBright now bring it nearWell I’ll wield it, wallet fillingWith cold cash my call draws hereDagda’s Cauldron, Boann’s RiverFilled with bounty’s flowThrough me, to me, getter, giverBy my magic, be it so! The Vision As you recite the charm, with your vision eye bring a rich flow of Underworld power into your left hand.

Gaze into it, looking for the gain it has to offer. Bring a flame of the Fire into your right hand and fill it with your desire and intention. White Cat Grove. Druidic Mystical Practice Pt 2. Indo-European Paleopaganism and its Clergy. Note: This essay should be read in conjunction with Indo-European Caste Systems and Cosmologies, elsewhere on this website. It’s important to remember that a lot of history happened in Europe before anyone got around to writing it down.

Around 4000 B.C.E. (“Before the Common Era”) the tribes that spoke a language that linguists refer to as “Proto-Indo-European” began to migrate away from their original homeland, which was probably the territory around the northwest shores of the Black Sea. Some went southeast and founded the Armenian, Iranian and Indic cultures (Indian archeologists, however, insist that everyone started in India and went west).

Others went south to Anatolia and Palestine, and became known as Hittites and Mitanni. Those who went southwest to the Balkans became Thracians and Greeks. All this migrating around took many centuries and may have involved a lot of bloodshed. These would seem to most Americans to be the only sources of information about Paleopagan Druidism. Indo-European Caste Systems and Cosmologies. Note: This essay will make more sense if you first read Indo-European Paleopaganism and its Clergy, elsewhere on this website.

Our story so far: In the first few episodes of our continuing saga, “All My Oakgroves,” we’ve established two key concepts for understanding the world(s)views of the Indo-European Paleopagans. The first concept is a polytheological and sociological one called the “trifunctional ideology,” discovered by Georges Dumezil and his followers. The second is a related cosmological one of the “Three Worlds plus Fire,” identified, I believe by me, from a variety of Dumezilian and other Celtic and IE studies. Several decades ago, Dumezil noticed that the same major characters kept showing up in all the different IE myths and legends of which we had records; furthermore, they seemed to reflect a common social structure among all the IE cultures.

The “weird ones” included social outsiders such as foreigners, aboriginal (pre-Celtic?) Is this all confusing? Imbolc Traditions - ADF Neopagan Druidism. Explore some of the ways you can add folk practices into your Imbolc celebration. Imbolc is a festival of purification and a celebration of the first signs of spring. It is the time when the milk begins to engorge the udders of the livestock in preparation for the first births of spring.

It is an important date in the beginning of the agricultural year. Preparations for spring sowing, hiring of farm workers for the coming season, fishermen taking out their boats after staying in for the winter season, seaweed gathering on the coast to be used for fertilizer, and the gathering of shellfish all begin at that this time. The larder of the housewife and the hay stores of the farmer were also checked to make sure that only half had been consumed. In folk practice, it appears mostly as a holiday centered on the household, but it can easily be turned into a community celebration as well. Below are some customs that have long been associated with this sacred holiday. Spring Cleaning Divination.
