Bio je čudak svoga vremena, „grbavi Don Žuan“, kako su ga zvali, osobenjak sa neverovatnim talentom. „Niko ko se upoznao sa Tuluz-Lotrekom, nije ga više mogao zaboraviti…“, piše Artur Simons, pesnik i esejist, 1890. godine. Lotrek se rodio u Albiju, 1864. godine. Bio je direktan potomak loze grofova Tuluz.

Her name was Mary Delany. She was born in England in 1700. At the age of 72, she started painting paper and cutting it to make flower mosaiks. She made 985 of them!!! A book about her called ' The paper garden' by Molly Peacock is a wonderful journey into her process and how she came to do her life's work documenting and creating, combining science and art to leave behind a story rich with meaning and inspiration.

American Arts & Crafts movement The Arts and Crafts Movement in the United States came out of the decorative styles and philosophies of several countries, including England, Scotland and Austria and culminated in the U.S. between 1900-1910. The movement began in England as a reaction to the Industrial Revolution, and that era's emphasis on mass factory production as opposed to a focus on the handcrafting of objects and the importance of the craftsperson as in previous eras. The information we are presenting here is but a very small portion of what is available on the A&C Movement in the United States.

"Made in the UK: Contemporary Art from the Richard Brown Baker Collection" richly captures Britain's contemporary art scene as it emerged from World War II to become a prominent force on the world stage today. Made in the UK opens on September 23rd and remains on view through January 8th 2012.
