Gone in a Split Second. There are moments when a photographer knows that they have almost no time to take a shot – and that in a second the opportunity will be lost forever.

Gone in a Split Second

Whether the moment is caught by skill, luck or sheer accident, the results can be breath-taking. Here is a selection of amazing photographs which capture a moment otherwise gone in a split second. Image Credit Flickr User John&Fish This Taiwan Blue Magpie, taken at Yangmingshan, Taipei City did not appreciate this dog trespassing in its nesting areas. Needless to say, the plucky bird was perhaps mistaken in its attempt to shoo off the excitable intruder. Images like this are not taken every day. This rocket was captured at the moment it failed - this train wreck in the sky took just a second to fall apart and this was caught by holding down the camera's motor drive, preserves the ignominious moment for posterity.

Inspired by high school architecture class where he was assigned to create simple paper models using cut paper manilla folders, San Francisco-based designer Luca Iaconi-Stewart went home to begin construction on an extremely ambitious project: a 1:60 scale reproduction of a Boeing 777 using some of the techniques he learned in class.

That was in 2008, when Iaconi-Stewart was just a junior in high school. Unbelievably, the project continues five years later as he works on and off to perfect every aspect of the plane. Relying on detailed schematics of an Air India 777-300ER he found online, he recreates the digital drawings in Adobe Illustrator and then prints them directly onto the paper manilla folders. But everything has to be perfect. So perfect, that Iaconi-Stewart says he’s actually built two airplanes, the one you see here and the numerous failed attempts including three tails, two entire sets of wings, and multiple experiments to ensure everything is just so. Montana Magica Lodge: Amazing rainforest hotel shaped like a volcano that spews water

It looks like the kind of place the blue folk from Avatar might hook up with hobbits and Ewoks to go on holiday. But this is neither Pandora, Middle-Earth nor the Star Wars forest moon of Endor. Deep in southern Chile lies the Montana Magica Lodge - an extraordinary hotel hidden away in the centre of a 300,000-acre private nature reserve. Scroll down for video It might be completely artificial but the Montana Magica lodge in Chile even 'erupts' every day, sending water running down the outside of the 13-room guest house. Sidi Saiyyed Mosque. Mosque of Sidi Sayed Jaali The Sidi Saiyyed Mosque(સિદૂી સૈયદ ની જાળી), built in 1573(૧૫૭૩), is one of the most famous mosques of Ahmedabad.

Sidi Saiyyed Mosque

As attested by the marble stone tablet fixed on the wall of the mosque, it was built by Sidi Saeed or Sidi Saiyyed, an Abyssinian in the retinue of Bilal Jhajar Khan, general in the army of the last Sultan Shams-ud-Din Muzaffar Shah III of the Gujarat Sultanate.[1] Sidi Saiyyed Mosque The mosque was built in the last year of the existence of Sultanate of Gujarat.[1] The mosque is entirely arcuated and is famous for beautifully carved ten stone latticework windows (jalis) on the side and rear arches. The rear wall is filled with square stone pierced panels in geometrical designs. The central window arch of the mosque, where one would expect to see another intricate jali, is instead walled with stone.[2] This is possibly because the mosque was not completed according to plan before the Mughals invaded Gujarat.[2] ^ Jump up to: a b Nawrath, E.
