10,000 Licks. What could be better than summertime in the Twin Cities?

10,000 Licks

How about summer in the Twin Cities with gourmet, farm-fresh ice pops?!? We're talkin' about Watermelon Mint, Strawberry Basil, Sweet Corn, Bluegrass (blueberry & lemongrass), Vietnamese Coffee, Rhubarb, Lavender Lemonade, Vanilla Beet, and many more amazing flavors. We're 10,000 Licks, and we buy the best local fruits, herbs, and dairy from local farmers whenever possible, and whip them into delicious icy treats. Headwind 2011 by Kevin Donley. As cars are powered by gasoline, our bodies (and thus our bikes) are powered by nutrients and proteins derived from the earth.

Our philosophy regarding food consumption is rooted in the age-old saying, "you are what you eat", so we delight and pride ourselves in creating delicious home-cooked meals from fresh, local, and high-quality ingredients. This summer we will travel across The United States and through some of America's most fertile farmland not only exploring the way in which food is grown and the lives of the people who grow it, but also our own culinary talents as we will be camp-cooking the entire trip.

Over the course of our nearly 4000 mile journey we will cook countless meals, and learn an insurmountable amount of information about farming and cooking on the road. Urban Free Farm: Producing Free Food in Brooklyn! by Bushwick City Farm. Even though we've reached our goal, each additional contribution means we can do that much more.

Make Capitalism Work For Me! by Steve Lambert. Grow a New Eye by Tanya Marie Vlach. Thanks for visiting my page!

Grow a New Eye by Tanya Marie Vlach

I am attempting to recreate my eye with the help of a miniature camera implant in my prosthetic / artificial eye. The intraocular installation of an eye-cam will substitute for the field of vision of my left eye that I lost in 2005 from a car accident. While my prosthesis is an excellent aesthetic replacement, I am interested in capitalizing on the current advancement of technology to enhance the abilities of my prosthesis for an augmented reality. Before we get into the nitty gritty details of the eye camera, let's back up a few years.

In 2005, I was in a near death car accident. Open Source Vertical Wind Turbine by Wyatt Sanders. The intended outcome of this project is to develop a small wind turbine that can be built for cheap, and that can be used with more wind turbines to marginally increase electricity output.

Some of the parts in this project are still conceptual and have not been built before. Some of the parts include: A redesigned DC turbine. Modular plastic components, and an Arduino wind turbine controller. From early estimates we project that the cost to build one turbine (after development) would likely be less than $75, seeing as how all the plastic parts only cost $32. We will likely be using Autodesk Inventor to make prototypes to print from a Reprap.

And finally the big question, what will we be using the funds to pay for? $1000/mo Warehouse. $100 per machined part. $50 per spool of PLA plastic. Solid Watch by Henry Juskevicius. This is fantastic.

Thanks to everyone for the amazing support.... Nataly Dawn's first solo album. I will be working with some of my favorite musicians on this album, and since it's all filmed, it'll be like you were there too, right?

Nataly Dawn's first solo album

I know that I risk jinxing myself in saying that I have very high hopes for this album, but it's the truth! Over the last year, I have written songs that I'm proud of and that I believe represent a cohesive body of work. They've taken a lot out of me (in a good way), and I'm looking forward to sharing them with you. It helps that I have so much faith in the musicians I'll be working with. Between the drummer, the bassist, the guitarist and the engineer, I couldn't tell you who was the most talented. Everything is ready to go: the songs, the musicians, the studio.
