Genghis Khan (1162 – 1227), the founder of the largest contiguous land empire ever established, was the son of Yesugei, head of the Borjigin clan and his wife, Ho'elun. He believed himself commissioned by heaven to establish a world empire. Born as Temüjin, he united the Mongol tribes and forged a powerful army based on meritocracy, and became one of the most successful military leaders in history. While his image in much of the world is that of a ruthless, bloodthirsty conqueror, Genghis Khan is celebrated as a hero in Mongolia, where he is seen as the father of the Mongol Nation, who brought law, literacy, and learning to his people. The image of his legacy has been clouded by association with the exploits of his lesser, and sometimes dissolute, successors who lacked his own disciplines and his deference to shamanist spiritual traditions, that would lead him at times to commune alone with the blue sky before undertaking military operations.

That last one is my favorite. They're all pretty good! I do comics all the time but they are hand drawn on the back of reservation sheets. Maybe I should get off my ass and scan some. Using a mouse and a touchpad takes too much time to create shit like that. Even simple stick figures take time to create unless you have something where you can draw electronically.

Auto Safety Master Can Opener: 5-in-1 can opener leaves no sharp edges
Overview: The Auto Safety Master Opener is an amazing 5-in-1 can opener. The cornerstone of this multi-tool is Kuhn Rikon's patented LidLifter technology, which makes opening cans far easier and safer than with traditional openers. The self-attaching LidLifter cuts the outside rim of the can and not the top, which means no sharp or jagged edges are left behind!Newegg wish list

Don't know the first thing about growing pot? The folks at iGrow have a doctor on site to get you a cannabis card and sell you all the necessary equipment for indoor, hydroponic cultivation - from pumps, nutrients and tubing to lights and fans. Don't know how to set it up? For a fee, on-site technicians will show you how to build it in your home and even maintain it weekly. "A lot of people don't know much about growing pot," said Dhar Mann, 25, the owner, who stood in front of an array of Ikea-like displays, showing different rooms of cannabis cultivation systems.

Electronic Arts are looking to branch out of being a pure gaming software company. They now want to be a major player in the hardware market, by investing heavily in their own 4th generation console, which will make them the fourth major player. They are doing this, as they see the console market as being a strong growth area. The other three major players are Microsoft (Xbox 360), Sony (PlayStation 3) and Nintendo (Wii). To achieve this, EA CEO John Riccitiello made a prepared statement that his company will be investing $80 million to develop a competing console, "We intend to invest $80 million in gen-4 console development in fiscal 2013. We are strong believers that console will return to strong growth, representing great opportunity, one that is in lockstep with our digital plan."

We are only limited by what we can conceive of, by what we think it is possible to accomplish. That statement might sound like some wishy-washy statement Mom said to you at bedtime when you were 8, but I'm serious. Turn a Cheap Router into a Home Automation Server
We love to automate things in our home here at Lifehacker, and it turns out that with just a router, an Arduino, and an RF switched outlet, you can control pretty much any electrical device you want from your smartphone or computer. This tutorial is courtesy of Instructable user mrx23, who turned an OpenWRT-compatible router into its own little web server that sends serial commands to an Arduino, which then controls switched RF outlets via a remote control. You can access the switch with any browser and use it to turn on and off pretty much any electrical device you want—lights, music, video game systems, or anything else lying around your house.Kongregate
