The VIA AMOS-3001 is the first model to use the VIA EPIA-P820 Pico-ITX board, which measures 10 x 7.2 cm and squeezes in a 1.2GHz VIA Nano CPU, 2GB of memory and the all-in-one VIA VX855 Media System Processor, good for 1080p HD video. While VIA are positioning the AMOS-3001 as an industrial PC, with broad temperature range resilience, we're thinking it would also make for a pretty impressive HTPC. Thanks to the EPIA-P820 it can manage high-bitrate H.264, WMV, VC1 and MPEG 2/4 output, while connectivity includes HDMI, VGA, gigabit ethernet and two USB 2.0 ports via a dedicated I/O board. Slotted into the AMOS-3001, meanwhile, and you also get COM ports together with two extra USB 2.0; the mini-PC measures just 15 x 4.6 x 10.8 cm.
No word on pricing right now, but both VIA products are currently sampling. Press Release: How To: Mac OS X 10.5.4 for the Eee PC 901 & 1000H. Run Mac OS X on a PC. High performance access to file storage Special Report Want to run Mac OS X on a PC?

Since the installer will be overwriting the disk's Master Boot Record, any other OS present won't boot unless you restore the previous MBR. In my case, I'm installing on a new system with two disk drives, so I unplugged the Slackware/Windows drive and plugged the second drive in the primary SATA slot on the motherboard.
Gdium » Home. A real Space Oddity arrives at PC Pro. You may remember that, some time ago, I blogged about an interesting little computer curio called the Space Cube.
Quite simply, it’s one of the smallest PCs in the world, with each side measuring around 2 inches square. I wrote that it looked cool, ran on a 300MHz processor and that it probably wouldn’t be sold outside of Japan, if at all. Well, now, we’ve actually gone and got hold of one – the only Space Cube in the UK that’s running Linux, in fact.
In the flesh it’s even more impressive than in pictures, inspiring awe and provoking disbelieving reactions across the PC Pro office. It’s actually quite difficult to comprehend just how small the PC is so, for your delectation, we’ve been taking pictures of the Space Cube next to some everyday objects. So, we’ve established that it’s incredibly, impossibly small. It’s fair to say that the Space Cube isn’t overloaded with storage space, either. The Space Cube’s chassis is, well, a marvel. Most intriguing, though, is the Space Wire port. ASUS Eee PC 900 Omschrijving - eXpansys Nederland.
