Easy Halloween Crafts for Kids. Homemade Beads. Recently, we whipped up some homemade clay using a simple clay recipe the other day. We made pumpkin spice fall ornaments. Continuing with the same theme, we made some fun and cute little beads for fine motor play through threading and jewelry making. We followed the recipe mentioned in our previous post and made 3 gorgeous colors! I used gel food colors to get the color I wanted.

The orange, yellow and purple were vibrant! Since this was technically “supposed” to be a surprise for the kids { I was thinking Halloween jewelry on Halloween day!} I rolled out tiny bead-size ball and make small holes using toothpicks. However with 2 kids under 5 I couldn’t obviously complete a project in 1 sitting. We also flattened a few balls and made “flower” like impressions on them. We left the clay to air dry for a day. Even the 3 year old got really into it- simply because she “made” her own beads! My 5 year old was eager to use the pumpkin pressed “medallions” in one of the necklaces. This time we created some spring themed window clings. [ Please read the note at the end f this post before attempting this kids activity] Things we used White GlueDish SoapFood ColorZiplocThemed printable (optional) I made colored glue (glue+food color) in different cups with 2-3 drops of dish soap added in each cup. We applied a thick coat of colored glue on the ziplocs. . [ Turning kids activities and kids art projects into window décor or a piece of permanent display is wonderful for their self-confidence. While painting, it is better to stick to a single color on one image since the glue seems to be flow and the colors tend to run into each other. Removing the clings from the Ziploc is just as fun as painting. Then I left it to my kid to decorate the windows. 1. 2. Highlights.

Flower Potions | Crafts for Kids. Pin It This weekend we had amazing weather so the girls and I walked around and explored nature around our home. The girls collected flowers and once back home, we set up our flower potions lab. This is a very simple and entertaining activity suitable for toddlers and preschoolers. Start by filling the cups with water and adding food coloring to each one. Add the flowers to your cups of colored water. Help your kids get creative by pulling the petals from the flowers or sticking the stems in the water. With some simple supplies, my toddler enjoyed pouring, mixing and scooping while my preschooler was creating stories and potions at the same time. They told stories related to each potion such as "this one will make you a princess.

Crafts with candy and crafts with candy wrappers may seem undoable because you might think “my kid would want to eat that candy, not craft with candy”. But kids love to create with non-toys, even candy remember.Read on.. Like many kids, Big S loves her sugar candies. With candy comes the need to keep reminding that the wrappers need to go to the trash bin.

The girls love to throw them up and pretend they are butterflies. Laughter and giggles to follow from all the messing up. We made butterflies & flowers To quiet them down, I took the wrappers and started twisting them to make simple butterflies. Smooth out the wrappers and give them a good twist. We made some cute, colorful butterflies. Big S squeals: Flowers mommy ! I saw the pack of candy and said ” Let’s make flowers with these” Big S: No. Did she just say candy is her food? The candy flower patterns looked so cute, it inspired us to make a scenery with them. Tippytoe Crafts.

Crafts ideas. Easy clothespin animals. Days to World Animal Day [tminus t="2012-10-04" style="carbonlite"]World Animal Day[/tminus] Day-7 This is going to be a quick one. Why? I did this activity with my toddler and you how long a toddler activity lasts –however pintastic it is! I kept it simple with my almost two-year old with a very short attention span. Things you need Craft sticksPlastic clothespinsOld yogurt container Before I go on, I can guarantee you that many toddlers (especially if they have older siblings) will pretend the clothespins is an alligator and will try to snap you or worse snap themselves.

Use caution and please supervise. Initially, my plan was to just clip clothespins on an empty yogurt container. We did this for a little while and baby A was off to snapping her hair with clothespins and having a “gigglishy” good time. When the snapping clothespins timer went off, she started snapping clothespins on the craft sticks. Once she practiced with a few, she started her requests. A few more Thanks for reading. It is sad that we as a family have NEVER gone apple picking. May be one of these days.. But that did not stop us from doing an apple tree craft. What’s special is we did the toddler way. Things you will need Toilet roll tubes or kitchen roll tubes cut into 2 halvesGreen construction cut out as leavesBrown Paint or Mix Red and GreenRed PaintCotton BallsFoil pan Before starting, I cut out my leaves for the tree using green construction paper.

Since we ran out of brown paint, we decided to make brown. For this project we used red and green to make brown paint [ color mixing] I poured both the colors in a foil pan and had the kids go at it. Both of the them rolled in tubes in the paint and turned the “tree trunks” brown. Instead of using red pom-pom balls, I used some cotton balls. Again, balls go into the tray and tons of red paint go on top of it. Side note: Dried cotton balls become very hard. We let our apples dry. Thanks for reading. Valentine craft. Make your own animal face mask. Here’s another easy animal craft idea to keep your baby and preschooler busy and happy !

With all the structured activities and schedules around us, we tend to overlook on “Fun Stuff & Having Fun” ! According to the experts, “play” is the chief vehicle for the development of imagination and intelligence, language, social skills, and perceptual-motor abilities in infants and young children”. This play time was all about being “Silly & Having fun ” My 10 month old loves to play peek-a-boo and Big S uses everything she finds to keep the giggles coming . Big S wanted to do animals because she is trying to teach the baby different animals and their sounds. Lil’ S loves to mimic sounds and it’s so much fun when the girls are so behaved and are having a good time playing. It doesn’t last very long , but I’ll take whatever few minutes I get Things we used: Step 1: Draw or print out animals on construction paper Step 2: Cut along the outline and punch out the eyes. Step 3: Step 4: Step 5: Let the play begin. DIY flower pots.

Things we used Plaster of ParisStyrofoam ballsChenille stems/pipe cleanersPaint and brushes This activity is good for pre schoolers and above. Start off with painting the Styrofoam balls to make the flowers. Big A made a game out of it by challenging herself to paint the whole ball without getting paint on her fingers. She has to hold the ball in her left hand and paint with her right while rotating the ball to get paint evenly all around.Well, I guess she lost steam because she was burnt out from this extra-ordinary fine motor activity for at least 7 balls. Baby A’s goal on the other hand was to get as much paint as humanly possible on her body while getting as little as possible on the ball itself.

Step :1 Paint the balls We set all the balls to dry and wrapped up the project for the day. Next step we made the flowers and a sun using pipe cleaners. Note: The sparkly ones may seem cute but they are only mediocre performers as stems. Step :2 Make the petals using pipe cleaners Extensions. Paper roll craft: Castle.
