Colour Accuracy « Howgreenisyourgarden's Blog

I talked about accurate colour and its dependency on selecting accurate camera profiles in a previous article . I now look at the next logical step; creating my own camera profiles tailored to my camera/lens and the lighting conditions of each particular photo shoot. The problem with camera profiles. Using a camera profile for your camera is a step in the right direction, but as I have found since writing my previous blog on the subject, there are other issues to consider Each lens has different effects on colour. My Tamron 90 macro records greater vibrancy than my Sony 18-250 super-zoom.

Using Lightroom camera profiles (and why Adobe Standard is a liability) « Howgreenisyourgarden's Blog

One of the more tucked away features of Lightroom is the Camera Profile dropdown. It is right at the bottom of the develop module, under Camera Calibration. Lightroom Camera Calibration The Adobe Standard setting (which you will see if you have not made any changes to camera calibration) gives you ‘untouched RAW’; that is, without the effects of any camera post processing (colour correction, sharpening, etc). This is usually an accurate rendition of the raw data that came from your camera’s sensor and amplifier stage, but there are three potential problems; The final RAW will not look like the image you saw in your LCD in-camera . http://howgreenisyourgarden.wordpress.com/2011/02/13/using-lightroom-camera-profiles-and-why-adobe-standard-is-a-liability/

Maurizio Piraccini Photography: Sony (and Minolta) color profiles for Adobe Camera Raw and Adobe Lightroom - UPDATED

I've created new Adobe Camera Raw and Adobe Lightroom color profiles (standard, faithful, landscape, leica, portrait, neutral, positive film, skin tone darker, skin tone lighter, vivid blue, vivid green, vivid red e vivid) for every Sony (and Minolta) interchangeable lens cameras: I've photographed, under the direct sunlight, a 24 color GretagMacbeth / X-Rite table, then, after converting the RAW to DNG, I've created the standard color profiles with Adobe DNG Profile Editor. Starting from the standard profile and using as reference the "non standard" Nikon, Canon and Leica's profiles, I've created the creative profiles. The standard profiles are accurate only for the A700, the A850, the A900, the NEX-3, the NEX-5 and the NEX-5N (where I've photographed the color table with the corresponding camera), for the other cameras I've just used the best matching one.
