Four Cheese White Pizza (and a Blog Anniversary!) This will most likely be a long post. I won’t be offended if you skip all the writing. But, The Curvy Carrot (my extracurricular baby) has just turned one. I cannot believe that I started this blog one year ago. I had just gotten back from the Food and Light Workshop in Boulder, Colorado with Annie.

I had been tossing the idea around in my head for a long time. There I was, the ONLY participant at the workshop with these super talented and ingenious photographers/chefs/bloggers…and when I introduced myself, I was totally embarrassed to admit: “I don’t have a blog….yet.” Suffice it to say, I think I have come a long way in a year, but I know I have so much more to learn. A year ago, I was living with my parents, in the middle of a very intense period of my life: finishing up residency, going through a divorce from a very unhealthy relationship, trying to sell a home in a super horrible market, but I simply decided to lay it all out there and start doing what I wanted to do. GRILLED FLAT BREAD TOPPED WITH CARAMELIZED ONIONS AND BLUE CHEESE MASCARPONE AND CRUNCHY RED GRAPES Recipe courtesy Tyler Florence Yield: serves 4-6 Time: 35 minutes 1 bagged store-bought large flat bread (rustic style) extra-virgin olive oil 2 cups mascarpone 1 cup crumbled gorgonzola blue cheese 3 large onions, sliced kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper 2 cups firm California red Grapes, split down the middle 1 cup toasted walnuts, roughly chopped 2 tablespoons flat leaf parsley Take a large sauté pan and add a 2-count of olive oil. Transfer to a platter and whilst still warm, smear with mascarpone, sprinkle with crumbled blue cheese, caramelized onions, toasted walnuts and fresh grapes. Fancy Hawaiian Pizza. I embraced it…thinking, you know, we’re totally in the future. This is the future. But I still couldn’t figure out how this was logistically possible. Is there low-jack technology involved? I actually thought that everyone ate it…kind of like how I thought everyone else called noodles “noonies.” Ahem. Funny thing is, my mom recently told me that the real reason she came up with the idea because we were running low on food in the house, and these ingredients just happened to be on hand.
