Top ten tips to starting University

We all know that being motivated after a few months can be pretty strenuous. Getting the mind muscles pumped, choose the best coursework help service and the Mum-less machine going is a tough one! Not only do you have to cook and clean-but you also have to keep on top of coursework!

Well, here are a few tips to start with….

1. Make sure you pack EVERYTHING

Before you even think about starting University, it is important that you have an idea in mind of what to pack. Make a checklist. This is a quick and efficient method, which although simple allows you to check off each item when you have finished packing it. Don’t worry so much about buying a Kettle or Toaster as they are often provided in Halls of Residence.

2. Finance

A bit boring, I know. Welcome to adult life!

It is handy to get a student bank account before going to University. Different banks offer different perks; things as a student discount card and also, and most will provide a handy overdraft. Make sure you keep up to date with Student Finance too (you don’t want to find the payments aren’t ready to be made just as you start!)

3. Have an idea of monthly costs

It really helps if you’re able to work out how much money you have after the rent comes out. Get an idea in mind of food prices. Compare costs and shop around. Maybe even do some research online before you leave to get an idea of weekly shopping costs.

4. Learn to cook

You shouldn’t have to live off beans and toast! There are several dishes which can be accomplished for very little money, whilst also being nutritious. Ask family members for recipes that you enjoy, and make your own recipe book!
