3D Dot Game Heroes trailer satisfies thirst for adventure -- Joy. Hands-on: Risk Factions (XBLA) -- Joystiq. By Andrew Yoon on Mar 16th 2010 9:00AM I have an admission to make: I haven't played the original Risk board game. For hardcore fans of the game, that fact alone may discredit my opinion. However, after playing the upcoming XBLA adaptation, I wish I had discovered the board game sooner. Risk Factions looks and feels like a Penny Arcade game: the art style is similar, and the writing is just as irreverent. While Factions will allow players to play classic style Risk, newcomers will undoubtedly want to play through the main campaign first. Occupying the most space on the map is simply a means to an end. Battles in the campaign feel fast and lively, and the excellent visuals provided by Powerhouse Animations make Risk Factions compelling to watch.

Monster Hunter Portable 3rd coming to Japan in late 2010 -- Joys. News - Disney World Monorails get TRON LEGACY Light-Cycle Makeov. Earlier this month we reported that along with the CGI Animated Series and Sequels that Disney has planned for their high-tech 3D adventure Tron Legacy, Disney was also planning to give sections of their theme parks Tron facelifts. Though an original Tron attraction/ride won't hit the theme parks until at least 2012, provided the film does well (it will), we thought we'd have to wait until October or November to at least see the park facelifts. Wrong! As early as this month, Walt Disney World Resort will be rolling out their Monorails that have been transformed to feature the iconic and upgraded Light-Cycles on the sides, and will be visible on the Epcot monorail line.

Here's a couple photos that Disney Parks released that show just what the transformed monorails will look like. You can see the Light-Cycles in action at the end of the breathtaking New Trailer, and in the Test-Footage. Click on the images to enlarge. LIVE The Secret to Blizzard's Success: The Making of Starcraft I. @kainzero: Thats a pretty ignorant statement to make because the game was wildly popular in the US and euro competitive scene before it got popularized in korea. Its also ignorant because if koreas the sole reason it got popular, why was it the rts that got popularized? @halfthought: Maybe he meant Korea is the Seoul reason. ...sorry @halfthought: If we're talking about Starcraft's impact on release, I would agree.

If we're talking about Starcraft's legacy and why people still recognize it now, it goes to Korea, they've done a lot for the game and have really kept it going with innovative builds, strategies, and maps, not to mention the fact that Starleague even exists. It should also be noted that most popular software related to BW was not made by Korea: iCCup, Chaos Launcher, bwreplay... Ask most people about Starcraft now and they will either mention its popularity in Korea, or BGH/FMP/UMS.

You can get high-end laptop guts into a space smaller than what's shown above. For example, my 15" laptop contains a 2.13GHz core i3-330M, 4GB DDR RAM, 640GB hard drive, and a Radeon HD 5650, in what's probably a slightly-thinner-than-standard 15" laptop case.

I know it's just a concept, but the image above is a lot thicker than my laptop, leaving room for meatier components. @The Squid: That's true, my bad. I guess when I think of gaming PCs, I tend to automatically think of machines that pack a heavy punch, can be upgraded, embark big cooling systems, etc. I completely forgot that there certainly are laptops that can handle recent games with good performance. Who knows, Commodore could introduce the gaming equivalent of an Eee PC: a desktop with an attractive form factor, and a good compromise between power and price. Microsoft's Courier 'digital journal': exclusive pictures and de. We've been dying to know more about Microsoft's Courier tablet / e-book device ever since we first caught wind of it last September, and while our entreaties to Mr. Ballmer went unanswered, we just learned some very interesting information from an extremely trusted source.

We're told Courier will function as a "digital journal," and it's designed to be seriously portable: it's under an inch thick, weighs a little over a pound, and isn't much bigger than a 5x7 photo when closed. That's a lot smaller than we expected -- this new picture really puts it into perspective -- and the internals apparently reflect that emphasis on mobility: rather than Windows 7, we're told the Courier is built on Tegra 2 and runs on the same OS as the Zune HD, Pink, and Windows Mobile 7 Series, which we're taking to mean Windows CE 6.

Update: We've added a gallery of user interface shots -- some of which we've seen and some of which are new. Courier user interface See all photos 8 Photos Comments. Microsoft's Courier 'digital journal': exclusive pictures and de. DICE Summit 2010 – Design Innovate Communicate Entertain – The 1.
