Crème Brûlée

http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2010/07/creme-brulee/ Today is a very special day. It’s a special day because I’m sharing with you my favorite dessert on earth. Mmm… Crème Brûlée . It’s even fun to say, even if it is a pain in the neck to type. I’ve loved it for a very, very, very long time. I included this crème brûlée recipe in my cookbook, and had planned for it to remain one of the cookbook-only recipes in there.
http://www.kevinandamanda.com/recipes/appetizer/candied-pecans.html I hope everyone had a very merry Christmas! My mom and I have been cooking up a storm this week. Just like we always do when we get together! If we’re not hitting the sales, we can’t seem to stay out of the kitchen. Here’s another one of my favorite holiday treats from my mom. I am in love with these sweet, cinnamon-y, roasted pecans.

See Girl Cook - Dark Chocolate Candied Orange Peels

http://seegirlcook.com/2011/01/dark-chocolate-candied-orange-peels/ I’m back again and finally have something new for you. My holidays went wonderfully and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed spending time with family and visiting with friends I don’t often see. I am also so very happy to announce that I have a brand-spankin’ new nephew! His name is Iker and he is just adorable. The stinker decided to come three weeks early while I am away in Maryland, so unfortunately I haven’t been able to cuddle and see him in real life yet, but my sweet sister has been texting me a new photo of him every day.

Chocolate Chip Cheesecake with Ganache Topping | Serendipity Mommy

I think that if I wasn’t already married, I would have said yes to a marriage proposal between myself and Cheesecake. Oh that silky invention of divinity. I could give up every other sweet treat in the entire culinary world and only ever eat cheesecake for dessert from now on and I would die happy. Today I decided to give cheesecake another fair shake and I tried a chocolate chip variation. http://serendipitymommy.com/cooking/chocolate-chip-cheesecake-with-chocolate-ganache-topping/

To get you in the candy making spirit, we searched the Family Kitchen and blogosphere to find some very traditional fudge recipes as well as a few non-traditional {like the nutella and sea salt chocolate and caramel fudge pictured above}. You can find them all after the jump. Peppermint Fudge

The combination of chocolate and banana is highly underrated. Aside from some frozen bananas dipped in chocolate, and chocolate chip banana bread, the combination is largely overlooked. Well, break out your bananas because we are going to make something that will make chocolate lovers rejoice. The crepes are chocolate but they do not have any sugar in them. Before you say I am mad consider that the crepes are going to be filled with bananas which are naturally very sweet. http://www.evilshenanigans.com/2010/01/banana-and-chocolate-mascarpone-crepes/

Drunken Coffee Jello Squares | The Hungry Mouse

OK, kids: This is coffee. In solid form. It’s been sweetened with condensed milk and booze-ified with a healthy dose of Kahlua—then rubberized into a blissful, cocktail-hour finger food thanks to the magic of gelatin. (If you know me, you know how much I love coffee, so you can imagine how excited I was when I came across the recipe.) Now, you have to like Jello , or Jello-like food, for this to work. If you do, you’re in for a treat.
