http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~biglou/ Luis von Ahn I build systems that combine humans and computers to solve large-scale problems that neither can solve alone. I call this Human Computation, but others sometimes call it Crowdsourcing. Some of my past projects include: CAPTCHA , The ESP Game (acquired by Google), GWAP , and reCAPTCHA (acquired by Google).
Last year, I noticed that TaraHunt.com no longer had content on it. I had been watching it off and on for years as it was owned by a woman in France who goes by the name Anne-Claire Dexmier-Morcrette . I quietly thought ‘hat tip to Anne-Claire’ and purchased HorsePigCow in 2003. But when I saw there was no longer content on the site, I thought I’d look Anne-Claire up and send her a message. Her reply back to me was darling:

http://gladwell.typepad.com/gladwellcom/ In Sunday’s New York Times Book Review , Steven Pinker responds to my description of him as occupying the “lonely ice floe of IQ fundamentalism”: What Malcolm Gladwell calls a “lonely ice floe” is what psychologists call “the mainstream.” In a 1997 editorial in the journal Intelligence, 52 signatories wrote, “I.Q. is strongly related, probably more so than any other single measurable human trait, to many important educational, occupational, economic and social outcomes.” Similar conclusions were affirmed in a unanimous blue-ribbon report by the American Psychological Association. . .

Creative Think

I'm an author, inventor, and consultant. I started my company, Creative Think , in 1977 to stimulate creativity in business. I'm probably best known as the author of A Whack on the Side of the Head and the Creative Whack Pack , and, most recently, as the creator of the Ball of Whacks®, X-Ball®, and the Creative Whack Pack® iPhone App [More]
I just posted a blog post on the MIT Media Lab blog officially taking a position against SOPA and PIPA. This is a longer blog post co-authored with Ethan Zuckerman describing the issue in more detail. SOPA - the Stop Online Piracy Act - and a sister bill, PIPA - the Protect IP Act - seek to minimize the dissemination of copyrighted material online by targeting sites that promote and enable the sharing of copyright-protected material, like The Pirate Bay. While this goal may be laudable, entrepreneurs, legal scholars and free speech activists are worried about the consequences of these bills for the architecture of the Internet. http://joi.ito.com/

http://www.tompeters.com/ Sydney, AHRI, 27 March 2012 I spoke in Sydney on 27 March to members of the Australian Human Resources Institute. This is my first seminar in a long while exclusively devoted to "people issues." Hence you may find it of general interest—it's my "last word"—for now!—on this premier enterprise topic.

http://gapingvoid.com/ [Today’s guest post is by Brian Solis , Principal Analyst, Altimeter Group.] It’s inevitable that I will get the question. You’d think by now that I would learn to expect it…that I would prepare for it…or have a response that would be purely second nature.
