Gasolineras "tranzas" en Monterrey. Coursera. Fourmilab. The Impending Change in Global Consciousness: Our Archaic Revival. In 1974, American professor of psychology Dr Clare W Graves wrote an article for The Futurist magazine titled Human Nature Prepares for a Momentous Leap. Graves described an impending change in human consciousness that would be, in his words: …the most difficult, but at the same time the most exciting transition the human race has faced to date.

It is not merely a transition to a new level of existence but the start of a new “movement” in the symphony of human history.Tweet His claim wasn’t just speculation though, it was based on seven years of field research plus almost 20 years of data analysis. Unfortunately he died before publishing his research findings and therefore his work remains largely unknown. Graves’ theory was used as the basis for the book Spiral Dynamics (Beck & Cowan, 1996) and most of his original research papers were eventually published as The Never Ending Quest (Cowan & Todorovic, 2005). Stage 7 – The Leap. Grow your own home with ancient and modern tech. Tiffany O'Callaghan, CultureLab editor (Image: DPA/Press Association Images) An architect and designer with a PhD from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Mitchell Joachim is the founder of the non-profit green design group Terreform and a leader in the "urbaneering" movement, which invites communities to participate in urban design projects.

His latest project is a collaboration between architects and biologists to construct a biosynthetic seat. New Scientist talked to him about experimenting with synthetic biology, his controversial "meat house" project and whether one day we'll be able to grow our own homes - and villages. What is an example of a successful urbaneering project? One of the earlier ones, the Brooklyn Navy Yard, was really successful. This was 300 acres [120 hectares] of urban space along the waterfront of New York that had been more or less inactive. How can we create the ideal city? It is defined as the combination of a plasma-cell proliferative disorder (typically myeloma), polyneuropathy, and effects on many other organ systems. It begins in middle age – the average age at onset is 50 – and affects up to twice as many men as women.[1] If untreated it is progressive and often fatal, with only 60% of sufferers remaining alive five years after onset.[1] However, the symptoms can improve if the blood disorder is successfully treated. Signs and symptoms[edit] The following are the most common clinical features of POEMS syndrome, either symptoms or signs.[1][4] The first two are present by definition; the remainder are frequent but not universal, and different individuals experience different combinations of them. Defining features[edit] The polyneuropathy is usually symmetrical and distal. Common features[edit] Possible features[edit] Criteria[edit] R.
