" Chairman Ratan Tata told Automotive News Europe that the car would "definitely" be coming to mainland Europe and the UK.

Tata said the Nano had generated wide interest in developed countries leading to the development of the Europa variant for future launch is such markets. The new car appears to be more suited to European driving conditions and tastes than the original version, with a longer wheelbase and a greater emphasis on styling details. It also gets a more powerful engine: a three-cylinder all-aluminum multi-point fuel injection unit that the company says will provide high fuel efficiency and CO2 emission of less than 100 grams per kilometer. It is the first passenger car from Tata Motors and it is also considered India's first indigenous developed passenger car. As of August 2008[update], more than 910,000 units were produced and the platform had spawned off close to 1.2 million vehicles.[1] The annual sales of Indica has been as high as 144,690 units in 2006–07.[2] As of July 2009[update], monthly sales of Indica were around 8000 units.
