A nine-year-old art genius nicknamed 'Mini Monet' is about to become a millionaire after selling his latest collection of 24 paintings for £250,000. Kieron Williamson, from Norfolk, had his landscape pictures snapped up by telephone and internet buyers from around the world in just 15 minutes during a recent sale. The youngster only started painting during a family trip to Devon and Cornwall in 2008 - before then he had just coloured in dinosaurs his parents had drawn for him. The New York-based graphic designer has taken some of the cleverest lines written by famous authors such as William Faulkner and Oscar Wilde and turned them into wonderful posters. These literature-inspired fine art illustrations are currently being sold on Etsy under the name Obvious State. Robertson would see a "little jewel of a sentence" and he'd underline it. Then, he would take those "snippets of text and ideas" and "let the words be a springboard for an illustration. They were prized souvenirs from the show you had just seen and if you were lucky enough to find one then it would go straight up on the littered wall at home (if you could find a space for it.) These posters were one of my first inspirations into Graphic Design and Illustration. Works of art created by design houses, illustration agencies and sometimes by students or young designers or illustrators just looking to get their work out there, furiously clambering over each other to get the job, to sit in the ‘cool class’ of design and illustration. There are an insane amount of great posters created for gigs all over the world. Here is a small collection of some my favourites. Land of the lakes (oil on canvas 1987) On The Wall. Arguably his most interesting project, entitled DRUGS is described as follows: Below, you can view a collection of portraits Saunders drew while under the influence of various substances ranging from cocaine, to marijuana, to DMT. Each portrait is an astonishing look into the mind of someone tweaked out on drugs, something that your eyes will surely appreciate.
