I have intentionally NOT written more about the Cleveland, TX torture case involving the repeated brutalization of an 11 year old child with the implied consent of many of the Black residents who live there. There are many reasons why I have not blogged this case the way I blogged Dunbar Village, the most important is that now that I know better, I should do better. And so I waited until the knee jerk commentary and clamoring from the initial shock of the case died down, somewhat, because I knew the second wave would arrive and it would be more insidious than the first. Dunbar Village was three years of being in constant shock and the depravity of men.... AND WOMEN, I refuse to not learn from history in this case.
Welcome to America in the second decade of the 21st century. An army of long-term unemployed workers is spread across the land, the human fallout from the Great Recession and long years of misguided economic policies. Optimism is in short supply. The few jobs now being created too often pay a pittance, not nearly enough to pry open the doors to a middle-class standard of living. Arthur Miller, echoing the poet Archibald MacLeish, liked to say that the essence of America was its promises. That was a long time ago.
As usual Mr. Herbert nails it again in this piece that is dead on accurate and straight to the point by Mar 27
Here is the latest video out of Cleveland, TX featuring Quanell X I'm not going to even bother to describe this HELL PIT PATHOLOGY the video speaks for itself. Quanell X Stages Rally in Cleveland: MyFoxHOUSTON.com I only pause to point out that the woman weeping buckets in the second video was the one who just days ago said her son admitted that he molested the 11 year old girl and said the "lesson" he should learn from his experience is that he should "check ID" before gang raping someone.
Well, those of you who've been reading this blog for a while aren't surprised by what I am about to tell you about an update in the Cleveland, TX rape case. Read our post from 4 years ago about the Black community's response to violence against women->() The behavior of the residents of Cleveland, Texas is identical to the reactions of the Black community in the Milwaukee case of an 11 year old girl being raped by 20 men and boys.
What causes bad moods? Why do we sometimes slip into angry fits and melancholy torpors? In general, happy moods have easy explanations – we know why we’re elated. But a bad mood often seems to arrive out of the blue, a gloomy weather pattern that settles in from everywhere all at once. All of a sudden, we find ourselves pissed off without a good reason, which only makes us more pissed off.
OPINION - A lot of people don't like Kardashian. I'm not here to debate her likability. I am here to make sure the bashers out there understand the horrific message they are sending to soon-to-be moms... OPINION - In August, we celebrate the 50th year of the March on Washington.
