Itinéraire[modifier | modifier le code] Le tracé n'est pas balisé et il comporte parfois quelques difficultés. Mais comparé aux GR, il impose moins de dénivelés journaliers (on reste souvent proche de la ligne de crête). Ce tracé s'adresse à des randonneurs expérimentés. Il est composé de 43 étapes. Certains « HRPistes » l'ont réalisé en moins de 43 jours, d'autres avec des variantes personnelles ou en sens inverse, parfois les deux. Histoire de la traversée[modifier | modifier le code] La traversée a été réalisée dès 1906 et décrite en 1907 par Jean Bepmale puis, refaite intégralement et décrite par Georges Véron en 1968.
