A List of 50 Of the best social media blogs in the world. Social media has really exploded in the last couple of years and there are some great blogs out there sharing tons of content and it is getting to the stage where it is nearly impossible to keep track of them all.

With that in mind I wanted to make a list of 50 of the biggest social media and tech blogs. Some offer great insight, some have the latest news and some are focused on giving you practical advice to improve your blog or business. They might not all be for you as they are all at different levels but you'll hopefully find a couple of blogs on this list that are well worth bookmarking and reading on a regular basis. Now I don’t know if there were complicating factors, but even if there were, it’s a timely and tragic reminder that we all need to take responsibility for our work-life balance. It’s an understatement to say the world of work has changed since I started my first job back in the early 1990s. I did have a computer, but no email. I had a phone, but no voicemail. No mobile phones, no Skype, no text messages, no instant messaging, no blogs, no RSS feeds, no social media, no Internet, did I mention no social media?

On the downside researching a new business pitch back in the early 1990s meant driving to the local library with a bag of 10p coins to feed the photocopier. Appealing to a consumer's sense of nostalgia is just one approach BuzzFeed recommends to crafting content readers will share with their friends. This is not a subjective statement considering that BuzzFeed had 100 million unique visitors in January -- and half of them clicked through from shared BuzzFeed content. The power of nostalgia is no surprise. It's always been popular; but it's taken on increased popularity in the last few years. Online: Throwback Thursday, #tbt, and apps like Time Hop Offline: The demand for vinyl records and the renewed popularity of Polaroid cameras have moved from the subculture and firmly taken root with a broader consumer audience.
