Creamy Frozen Yogurt Bars. Glass Grundrecept i glassmaskin. Vanilla Ice Cream. When my mum was in primary school, in a little Polish village, there was a lady who lived across the street from her school that sold homemade ice cream.

Vanilla Ice Cream

Every afternoon, she would open her front door and set up shop in her doorway, with a large canister of homemade ice cream and a stack of ice cream cones. The children would line up on her steps, coins in their pockets, ready to pay a dollar or two for a scoop of her delicious, homemade, vanilla ice cream. Every summer that I went to Poland, we would take some change and walk over to buy a scoop or two of ice cream. As the years passed, the lady got older and her son took her place in the doorway. But it was still always the same small cones, the same little scoops and the same, delicious, vanilla ice cream. The best ice cream in town. So when a few of my girlfriends bought me an ice cream maker for my birthday recently (the big quarter century, yay!) There is something about homemade vanilla ice cream that is just so amazing.

Frozen Key Lime Pie on a Stick

Happy Thursday, my lovelies. I am SO excited to share with you today’s recipe, so I’m going to keep the chit-chat short and get right on into it. Frozen Key Lime Pie ON A STICK. Oh, and it’s covered in chocolate. Spicy icecream: Pavlova Ice Cream Smash. I think I got a bit prematurely excited when I thought that with the cruisy freelance lifestyle I've adopted, that I might actually get to enjoy a Sydney summer for a change.

Well, life and work have conspired to be non-stop busy since the new year began and I spent 17 hours yesterday looking at my computer screen. But as I mentioned in my last post, this year is all about gratitude, and I truly am very grateful to be doing what I love, sometimes while still in my pj's. Here are a few other things that are making me smile these days... Speaking of summer and fruit, Australia Day is just around the corner and I've got you covered for dessert. I love the very casual and laid back nature of our national holiday! I layered the ice cream with a mixed berry compote, crumbled meringues (store bought is fine for this) and some fresh passionfruit pulp. Pavlova Ice Cream Smash Serves 8 First make the berry compote by placing the mixed berries and raw sugar in a saucepan over low heat. Baked Alaska. I’ve been carrying around this little notebook for 5 1/2 years.

In it, I write all the desserts I want to scale down for two. I’m always consulting the list and checking things off. It’s because of this little notebook that I’ve never experienced burn-out here in this space. There are always more sugary sweets out there to scale down to serve two. Life is pretty sweet, friends. I reach for my trusty notebook when I eat at a restaurant with an inspiring dessert menu. I think Baked Alaska has been on the list for close to 5 years. When I spotted this black cherry sorbet at a specialty shop, I knew it was time to make Baked Alaskas for two. You can make this recipe serve way more than 2 by using the sponge cake recipe from my Shortcut Tres Leches Cakes. Ok, so prep. Mini Baked Alaskas! Total time. Mangosemifreddo.
