http://www.ventilate.ca/ Great new spot from The Masters over at Buck with audio design from Toronto based CypherAudio . Today’s average male teenager is juggling school and sports, playing with every gadget he can get his grubby hands on, socializing across multiple cyber platforms, consuming media and targeted marketing at every turn. All the while, his body transforms, hormones rage, pubes sprout, and puss-filled blemishes explode on every inch of his skin until he finally pulls himself out of the teenage wasteland only to have to get a job and spend the rest of his days staring at a screen in a cubicle.

LOGOS

In part five of the Stylized Character Creation series, you’ll begin creating high resolution textures for the character. Shaun will start by applying base textures to the model in Maya and rendering a shading test to check for errors, as well as the overall composition and color of the textures. He’ll then move into Photoshop and guide you through the process of creating high resolution maps for the shirt, sweater, jeans and skin using a combination of photos and hand painting techniques. Finally we’ll apply the maps in Maya to complete the texturing phase of the character.

FormFiftyFive ? Design inspiration from around the world

What the FFF? Founded in 2005 by an ever growing group of young designers and vagabonds eager to collect and share the best design work they came across, FormFiftyFive soon became an international showcase of creative work. Although the site was doing a great job at sparking creativity, we felt it could, and should, be even bigger and better. So we spent many moons working on a brand new FormFiftyFive, still high in eye (and brain) candy, but with a brand new look and lots of new features that dig even deeper into what’s happening in the design community. We’ve also added more interactive elements on the site so people can exchange and store ideas more easily, encouraging collaboration and making the site more than just another design blog. So have a look round, if you see something you love or hate be sure to comment, and drop us a line if there’s a juicy bit of creative gold you’d like to see on here.

Collate

http://www.thisiscollate.com/ Like a certain gal in a certain TV-series, F60 Joan is a bag on a yo-yo diet: if you pull the right strings, it gets bigger and smaller. And whatever the dimension, it always looks stunning. Further, F60 JOAN is a master of intrigue: romantic enough to hold hands, or lay on your shoulder. Liberated enough to strap down on any odd object and strap onto the handlebars of a bicycle.
Naturalis is one of GFSmith’s flagship uncoated papers. However, the misconception has been that it is an expensive ‘art’ stock. We were asked to create a promotion that reintroduced Naturalis as a quality ‘everyday’ paper. Naturalis Works is a series of brochures and films designed around conversations with acclaimed craftspeople working across diverse fields. http://theartistandhismodel.com/

ISO50 Blog ? The Blog of Scott Hansen (Tycho / ISO50) ? The blog of Scott Hansen (aka ISO50 / Tycho)

“A series of informative posters detailing how some of the most notable drum sequences were programmed using the Roland TR-808 Drum Machine. Each sequence has been analyzed and represented as to allow users to re-programme each sequence, key for key.” I’ve seen some of this footage before but never heard the commentary. http://blog.iso50.com/
Over the past seven years, at our creative agency, Access , we have worked with a number of residential and commercial property developers from Abu Dhabi to Sydney, helping them with development and strategy. Yet we see so often the sad sight of yet another mediocre building going up. We see city councils approving mediocre design and we see cities looking uglier because of it. We see property developers rushing to get their building up, wanting to make a quick sale and profit, and not really caring or thinking about the aesthetics of the building. http://www.thecoolhunter.net/
