My all time favorite style is the sour ale, but I often find that I cycle through the “other style” I second-most enjoy, much like the turning of the seasons, although often out of sync with them. These days, I’ve been all about porters. A category of beer associated with bold flavors, complex notes of fruits and chocolates, and a certain smoothness and richness to the character under the right circumstances, the porter is a very versatile beer and, if you’re drinking the right one, can be an absolute treat to the discerning taster. To mark my reverence of the style, I decided to look at not one but two porters this week.

It’s a nerdy graphic design joke, and it became one of my more popular posts. Readers suggested that I create some keming merchandise. So I did . The t-shirts are the most popular items, but my favorites are the mug and spiral notebook (both of which make excellent stocking stuffers). I began to dream that the word would be widely adopted and become an actual part of graphic design language. How awesome would it be to coin a word that people actually use?
House of Blues LA - 10 minute clip Here is a 10 minute clip I recorded from my House of Blues LA show. This was mixed live on two iPads and one additional synth/drum machine controller powered by an iPhone. No computers used, shot the day the iPhone 4 came out. I waited for 9 hours to get the iPhone 4 and then went right to shooting the video!
