Bubbling Cauldron. Yet another easy/cheap/fun Halloween project to make.

Bubbling Cauldron

Kids can help with this one too! Recipe for a bubbling cauldron (hee hee):1 medium/large cauldron (mine is about 14" diameter): $7 from Walmart2 cans of insulating foam: about $3/eachGreen paintNewspaperCrumple up some sheets of newspaper and stuff into the bottom of your cauldron. As you can see below, I stuffed it nearly to the top. Then just spray the foam around in different bursts so that it covers the paper and has some texture by giving it that bubbly look. I don't quite know how to explain this part in writing... hopefully you get the idea. This is what it looked like after only one can of the foam! Day 2. Next just paint it green!

Halloween Spook Banner. Are you ready for Halloween?

Halloween Spook Banner

No, I’m not, but I did want to get started on my Halloween crafting so when it is time to decorate I’ll be ready. I decided to start with crafting a fun Halloween Spook Banner. It’s made completely out of scrapbook paper which makes it easy and affordable. I started by cutting the paper in triangles measuring 5″x7″. I free handed the faces then cut them out and used a glue stick to secure them to the triangles.

This is Frankenstein’s hair. The details on the owl were added using a marker. The cat’s whiskers and mouth were added using a pencil. I pieced different colored paper together to make the candy corn. And I tore off the top of the gray paper to make the ghost. I put the banner together using twine and clothespins. So my Halloween Spook banner is ready. Easy Halloween Costumes / Articles. Halloween is one of my family's very favorite holidays!

I am not sure who enjoys it more, the adults or kids! This fun holiday brings out the kid in all of I guess. And lots of candy. Every year I anticipate making the kids' costumes. I truly love and enjoy making them. My first piece of advice is go for impact. To make, simply fit a piece of elastic around child's waist and sew closed. I picked up a $2 witch hat from Target, but wanted to dress it up a little.

My next piece of advice is not to start from scratch. The hat is a store-bought knit cap that I turned inside-out, cut off a semi-circle from the top, and sewed back together forming an owl shape. Since the kids go to lots of Halloween parties and even wear their costumes to school, I figured why stop at once costume since they were coming together so quickly! This shark costume follows my previous advice, embellish something pre-made. Halloween.
