I loved this Open Triangle Necklace from ASOS. Normally I wouldn’t DIY a necklace that could be purchased for less than $20, but I already had all of the materials and it only took a few minutes. With a great little button-making kit ($3.79 for five buttons) that you can find at any craft store, you can make lots of these beauties. Its a fabric covered button and a hair band – that’s it. But, aren’t the simplest things always the cutest? The young girls in your life will love to do this with you. They can make these for many friends and family members as a sweet little Christmas or Hanukkah gift – and do it quickly! Allie loves dogs, so I though these were super cute. I can’t decide if its the shape, or the sheen, or just the promise of untying it at some point. Bows make everything seem a gift. I think the wrapped embroidery thread gives this headband an extra elegance. Take the bow away, and an embroidery thread-wrappped headband is a great accessory for a woman of any age. You add the bow, and you have perfect holiday party fare for the little girl in your life.

The gold sheen of the DMC 5 cotton pearl embroidery thread adds an extra sparkle to this. Envelope Liners. Oh my obsession with stationery continues.

I’ve designed invitations for a friend’s baby shower (the results of which I shall reveal after the invites have been mailed out so as not to ruin any surprises). While I wait for the printer to deliver the cards, I’ve been prepping the envelopes so I can drop them in the mail promptly. I had a stack of scrap art paper, and purchased some inexpensive white notecard envelopes, and decided to DIY some liners for the envelopes, in between wiping up sick children’s puke. Yay! I so adore the playful surprise of an envelope liner. Make your own chevron coasters. I’ve had a stack of ceramic tiles sitting in a box in the craft room for a long time.

Sorry about the little break. DIY Ribbon + Chain Bracelets from #MAGICLV. Here’s the second DIY I led with with BurdaStyle direct from the MAGIC floor. We did these bracelets on Wednesday, the final day of the show. It was a perfect project to wrap-up with because it was fast and easy. I think we were all feeling a little bit like the walking dead after spending the 4 days running around Las Vegas 20 hours a day. Photo courtesy BurdaStyle The supplies are simple: chain + ribbon. You may want to double up if one of your strands of lace or ribbon is significantly narrower than the others.
