The 50 Most Innovative Companies In Market Research

Here is the list. Yesterday we published the 14th edition of the GreenBook Research Industry Trends Report (download it here: and one of the most eagerly awaited subjects we covered is our annual “GRIT 50 Most Innovative Companies” ranking. Today I’m pulling out part of that section (there is a more in the report than I have here) for quick reference for our faithful readers. Beginning in 2010 we decided to start tracking which firms were perceived as most innovative within the global market research industry. This has evolved into the GRIT 50 Most Innovative list, which at its core is simply a brand tracker using the attribute of “innovation” as the key metric. 1. 2. 3. For this wave, using the aggregate of the ranking question, we developed a list of 991 companies in total, with 304 that received multiple mentions.

Thomas J. Watson Research Center

Established in 1961, the Thomas J. Watson Research Center includes research facilities in Yorktown Heights, New York and Cambridge, Massachusetts, and a client-oriented IBM Industry Solution Lab in Hawthorne, New York. From leadless pacemakers that can be implanted through a catheter to algorithms than can predict the onset of a seizure to robots that can perform surgery at the command of a physician, the medical industry is capable of making tremendous leaps of innovation.

Context, Connections, and Decisions: Positive Health Outcomes by Design

While these developments help us live longer than ever before, they are mostly technical or clinical advancements targeted at incrementally improving the performance of a device or the execution of a procedure. Very little effort has been devoted to improving the human experience of interacting with healthcare technologies, an area of focus which has the potential to be very disruptive. The gap between the quality of experiences we have with medical devices and healthcare services and that of consumer electronics is a wide one. Wearable Tech Companies. Competitions - innovateuk. Media Factory at Aalto University

This broad and varied field provides new opportunities for artistic work and for the creation of multi-disciplinary art projects embracing media art, costume design, fashion design and engineering, as well as other fields. Electronics and sensors allow artists to create interactive smart garments that produce sound and images in reaction to movement. They sense and communicate with the environment or react to it, and send online messages. Wearable Electronics. High performance access to file storage Green tech boffins at Osaka University have developed new highly efficient solar panel “paper” technology made from wood pulp, and says it is lighter, more flexible and eco-friendly than traditional clunky solar energy collectors.

Japanese boffins produce solar power paper

The solar paper can be less than one millimetre thick thanks to its basic components: transparent cellulose fibres just 15 nanometer thick produced from wood pulp and a thin film of silver wiring. The material's energy conversion efficiency rate of three per cent matches that of solar panels that use glass as a substrate, but is well below the 10-20 per cent rate typical of the solar panels used on roofs. Osaka university’s Laboratory of Cellulose Nanofiber Materials is looking to commercialise the design as an alternative to traditional solar panels within the next three years. Filed under: 10.電力・エネルギー, 8.温暖化・気候変動. Smart Textiles Feedback Page. A variety of important key markets already exist for Smart Textiles.

In these markets clothing and the functions it provides is of critical importance. New technologies in clothing are still fairly immature and often promoted by start-up companies that are spin-offs from professional research activities including universities. Such companies are usually strongly technology-led and with limited funding to commercialise their products, the result is that in many cases these technologies have yet to be exploited to the full or fulfill the real commercial potential of them - which may not be well understood or anticipated. In the majority of cases, ‘smart clothing’ continues to remain ideas looking for markets or demonstrations of capability or even means of promoting media attention rather than well understood and supported commercial products. Real commercial applications have yet to make a wide-spread breakthrough.
