Here I will be discussing AutoPerf [1] in brief and will go through the installation procedure and load test a simple Web Service. AutoPerf is an automated Load generator and Profiler for Web applications. The 2 modules viz. Master and Profiler act together to generate load and profile applications, which collects performance metrics based on a minimal given input via an XML file. When you want to load test a Web service residing on a machine remotely, you have to install the Master module on a Client machine, and the ‘ prof agent’ at the server machine, where the Web service is deployed. http://thesemanticway.wordpress.com/

Oracle Semantic Technologies Overview

This chapter describes the support for semantic technologies, specifically Resource Description Framework (RDF) and a subset of the Web Ontology Language (OWL). It assumes that you are familiar with the major concepts associated with RDF and OWL, such as {subject, predicate, object} triples, URIs, blank nodes, plain and typed literals, and ontologies. This chapter does not explain these concepts in detail, but focuses instead on how the concepts are implemented in Oracle. The PL/SQL subprograms for working with semantic data are in the SEM_APIS package, which is documented in Chapter 3 . The RDF and OWL support are features of Oracle Spatial, which must be installed for these features to be used.

It assumes that you are familiar with the major concepts associated with RDF, such as reification, containers, and collections. The Semantic Web Strategies conference is coming to San Jose, CA September 30 to October 2, 2007. The conference is being held by Jupitermedia and registration ranges from $50 for an exhibits-only pass and $1,795 for full conference options (if you register before the 12th of September you get a discount). The conference passport is the most expensive but you get the following good stuff: If you can't afford the conference passport, you may want to go after the one day pass which is priced at $795.
