DESY. AT - Astroparticle Physics. DESY is engaged in prominent international research projects on high-energy astroparticle physics. Various cosmic particles constantly reach the Earth – particles that can provide insights into events happening in the depths of the universe. DESY researchers study two of these cosmic messengers, neutrinos and high-energy gamma rays. AT - Neutrino Astronomy. AT - Gamma Astronomy. AT - Astroparticle Physics Theory. T - Theory Group. VIPAC - Virtual Institute for Particle Cosmology. KIT. KCETA - KIT Center Elementary Particle and Astroparticle Physics. Campus South: Department of Physics. TP - Institut für Theoretische Physik [DE] Campus Nord: Programme Astroparticle Physics. Astroparticle Physics is a young, interdisciplinary research area at the interfaces of elementary particle research, astrophysics, astronomy, and cosmology. It addresses questions like the nature of dark matter and dark energy; the stability of protons and the physics of the Big Bang; the properties of neutrinos and their role in cosmic evolution; the interior of the Sun or supernovae as seen with neutrinos; the origin of cosmic rays in all types of particles and the view of the sky at extreme energies; and violent cosmic processes as seen with gravitational waves.

The Helmholtz Programme Astroparticle Physics is incorporated within the Helmholtz Research Field Structure of Matter and is dedicated towards research and development of: Ultra-high energy cosmic rays (KIT) Pierre Auger Observatory (KIT) High-energy neutrino astrophysics (DESY) High-energy gamma ray astronomy (DESY) Direct search for Dark Matter (KIT) Neutrino physics (KIT) Karlsruhe Tritium Neutrino Experiment KATRIN (KIT) IKP - Institute for Nuclear Physics. IPE - Institute for Data Processing and Electronics. The Institute for Data Processing and Electronics (IPE) is characterised by its technological diversity and its broad range of projects.

IPE - Institute for Data Processing and Electronics

IPE contributes to numerous large-scale research programs at the National Laboratory KIT, such as Astroparticle Physics, Synchrotron Radiation Source ANKA, NANOMIKRO, Supercomputing and Atmosphere and Climate. The core competences of the institute are.
