Plarn Pop Tab Tote Bag. This week I present my first pop tab tote bag project. I was asked to create a tote bag using soda pop pull tabs and recycled plastic bags by a member of my Trash to Treasures group on Ravelry. I have been saving soda pop tabs and beer pull tabs so I could complete this project. It took 252 tabs for my bag. I decided that I would alternate rounds so that it didn’t take so many tabs to do this bag. Plus I like the look of the plastic bags by themselves to separate the pull tab rounds. I used cotton cord on the base of the bag to give it a sturdy bottom and also on the handles.

I found if I wrapped the plastic bag yarn (plarn) around the cord as I crocheted around it, it hides the white cord better. Hope you enjoy this free crochet pattern. *********************************************************************************************************************************Free Plarn Pop Tab Bag Pattern Directions: Ch 20 loosely. Free Crochet Pattern for pladish undies :) Okay, so here is the pattern for the purple pair of undies. It is not tested, so please let me know if there are mistakes. I would recommend using a smaller hook for a tighter crochet. I will probably remake it with a smaller hook....however, the hook I used, I got from a hair dying kit so I don't know the exact size. I would guestimate 1.5-2.00 mm. Also this pattern is for personal use only, please do not sell, as I am giving it to you for free and it took several hours to write it down since I had to constantly retrace my steps.

Yet Another Recycled Dress. Finally finished the last of the smocked dresses I’ve been recycling with crochet! In a previous blog post, I mentioned the use of a Japanese pattern for a capelet as the lace pattern for the crocheted top of this dress.

It is the same pattern that I used and modified for an earlier recycled smock dress found in another blog post. The first recycled smock dress uses crochet motifs that I sewed together ala-Russian style. You can find the dress in this post. Looking at all three dresses that I’ve finished and wearing them, I think I prefer the one that I made with the motifs. The lace top dresses are okay but they have lots of holes so the top might need a lining, although one can get away with wearing a nice bra with a pretty strap underneath. Perhaps next time, a better shaped top can be made. By The Hook - Scrunchies.
