Sound of 2011. [mp3] Best Songs of 2010 (Twitter Poll) | Tympanogram – Test Your Music. We’re not going to a do a Best Songs list of our own here (I don’t think). It’s more difficult to make a cohesive album than it is to make a single song, so it seems more fitting to talk about the artists that we believe did that well. But, that doesn’t mean we’re immune to talking about what people think are the best songs of the year, so we went straight to our friends on Twitter for their insight. The query was this: (W)hat’s the best song you’ve heard this year? (make it a 2010 song. hearing “God Only Knows” doesn’t count.) Following are the responses, in no particular order, with mp3s where we can and links to listen to the picks where we can’t. (We’ve also linked to the respective tweets so you can harass the voters for their poor taste if you deem it necessary.) Thanks to everyone for their contributions!

I like looking at the numbers and noting things like the difference in plays between my 1st and 2nd songs (27 plays), and seeing how much total time I spent listening to just those 25 songs.

I don’t need to knock things off the list just because they weren’t released in the specific year. I said this before, but this list tends to be what really makes or continues to make a personal impression. Maybe a song hit just at the right part of June, or I heard something in a new way. So, here is the list of what I took in most in 2010. It’s not always cool, but it’s always comfortable for me to come back to.

Once again a tough one, where we are forced to leave out so many awesome tracks. Last year I had to leave out some fine acts, that are on the list this year.

But enough pre-talk, let me present the Jonny Puma's best of 2010! #25. Electrotech Disco - A View From Above (Undog Remix) I'll finish off my list with Brazilian Undog's remix of Electrotech Disco. When I first came across Undog they were a duo but now it's only Bevi who runs it. Electrotech Disco - A View From Above (Undog Remix) #24. Crystal Castles released one of the best albums this year with "Crystal Castles II". Crystal Castles feat. . #23. This remix is so odd and amazing. Hey Champ - Cold Dust Girl (Gemini Club Remix) #22. Amazing Chromeo came back this year with a really fine album and the first single from it was "Night by Night".
