Gene Roddenberry. Data (Star Trek) Lieutenant Commander Data (/ˈdeɪtə/ DAY-tə) is a character in the fictional Star Trek universe portrayed by actor Brent Spiner. He appears in the television series Star Trek: The Next Generation and the feature films Star Trek Generations, Star Trek: First Contact, Star Trek: Insurrection and Star Trek: Nemesis.[1] Data is in many ways a successor to the original Star Trek's Spock (Leonard Nimoy), in that the character offers an "outsider's" perspective on humanity.[4] Gene Roddenberry told Brent Spiner that over the course of the series, Data was to become "more and more like a human until the end of the show, when he would be very close, but still not quite there. That was the idea and that's the way that the writers took it. " Spiner felt that Data exhibited the Chaplinesque characteristics of a sad, tragic clown.[5] To get into his role as Data, Spiner used the character of Robby the Robot from the film Forbidden Planet as a role model.[5]

Jean-Luc Picard. Casting and design[edit] As the series progressed, Stewart exercised more control over the character's development. By the time production began on the first Next Generation film, "it was impossible to tell where Jean Luc started and Patrick Stewart ended",[10] and by the fourth film, he stated that I find myself talking a lot about Picard and one of the things that I’ve come to understand is that as I talk a lot about Picard what I find is I’m talking about myself. There was a sort of double action that occurred.

In one sense Picard was expanding like this and at the same time he was also growing closer and closer to me as well and in some respect I suppose even had some influence on me. I became a better listener than I ever had been as a result of playing Jean Luc Picard because it was one of the things that he does terrifically well.[6] Stewart stated, however, that he is not nearly as serious or brooding as his alter ego.[11] Character biography[edit] Reception[edit] Other actors[edit] Olivia Munn. Lisa Olivia Munn (born July 3, 1980)[1][2] is an American actress, comedian, model, television personality and author. She began her career being credited as Lisa Munn. Since 2006, she has been using the name Olivia Munn personally and professionally.[3] Early life[edit] After Munn graduated from college, she became an intern at the NBC affiliate in Tulsa,[11] and later moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career.

In 2004, she interned at Fox Sports Net and worked as a sideline reporter for college football and women's basketball. She has gone on to say that she disliked the experience, explaining "I was trying to be something I wasn't, and that made me really uncomfortable on live TV Career[edit] Soon after she moved to Los Angeles, Munn was cast in a small role in the straight to video horror film Scarecrow Gone Wild.

--NG I sat in my office, nursing a glass of hooch and idly cleaning my automatic. Outside the rain fell steadily, like it seems to do most of the time in our fair city, whatever the tourist board says. Hell, I didn't care. I'm not on the tourist board. Things are tough all over. To cap it all the only client I'd had all week never showed up on the street corner where I'd waited for him. So when the dame walked into my office I was sure my luck had changed for the better. "What are you selling, lady? " She gave me a look that would have induced heavy breathing in a pumpkin, and which shot my heartbeat up to three figures. "What would you say to some of the green stuff? " "Continue, sister. "
