Israeli attack on USS Liberty (US Navy ship) Nablus: Israel gives villagers 24 hours to hit the road before leveling Tana. NABLUS, (PIC)-- Israeli authorities have given the people of the east Nablus village of Tana 24 hours to evacuate their homes before demolishing them, and threatened to confiscate their livestock when the deadline falls, sources in Nablus said. Tana is home to more than 35 Palestinian families. They have decided to resist decisions to demolish their homes and eject them from them, calling on officials to stand by them in the face of the arbitrary ruling. The village's population has been residing there since the 1940's. They had prior to that dwelled in caves in the rock village before they began building to house themselves and their livestock, their key source of livelihood. The village sits seven kilometers away from Beit Fourik. Since developing the village, residents have been ordered to stop building and under threat of demolitions.

The village has a land area of about 250 acres and is located near the Jewish settlement of Mahura, which was founded in 1969. Since the earliest days of the worldwide web, the conflict between Israelis and Palestinians has seen its rhetorical counterpart fought out on the talkboards and chatrooms of the internet. Now two Israeli groups seeking to gain the upper hand in the online debate have launched a course in "Zionist editing" for Wikipedia, the online reference site. Yesha Council, representing the Jewish settler movement, and the rightwing Israel Sheli (My I srael) movement, ran their first workshop this week in Jerusalem, teaching participants how to rewrite and revise some of the most hotly disputed pages of the online reference site.

"We don't want to change Wikipedia or turn it into a propaganda arm," says Naftali Bennett, director of the Yesha Council. "We just want to show the other side. May 31, 2010 by Henry Makow, Ph.D. Israel is the primary source of anti-Semitism in the world today, and jeopardizes the security of all Jews.

Proclaiming itself the "Jewish State" but acting as a rogue state, Israel exposes all Jews to revulsion and retribution. The murder of Gaza peace activists provides more evidence that the actual goal of Zionism is not to protect Jews from anti-Semitism but in fact, is to create anti-Semitism. The purpose is to make Jews a pariah unto the nations with no choice but to follow Zionist dictates. Eventually, they will be sacrificed for Zionist goals, as they were in the holocaust. Zionists are stripping Israelis and Jews of moral legitimacy so they can be liquidated again without any compunction. Do the moral arithmetic: In 2006, Israel kills 1400 Lebanese and inflicts $10 billion in damage because 2 soldiers are captured.

Israel jeopardizes the security of Jews everywhere by its actions. My grandparents died in the holocaust. History is full of ironies! Mment: Israel simply has no right to exist | World news. Several years ago, I suggested in my students' union newspaper that Israel shouldn't exist. I also said the sympathy evoked by the Holocaust was a very handy cover for Israeli atrocities.

Overnight I became public enemy number one. I was a Muslim fundamentalist, a Jew-hater, somebody who trivialised the memory of the most abominable act in history. My denouncers followed me, photographed me, and even put telephone calls through to my family telling them to expect a call from the grim reaper. Thankfully, my notoriety in Jewish circles has since waned to the extent that recently I gave an inter-faith lecture sponsored by the Leo Baeck College, even though my views have remained the same.

Certainly there is no moral case for the existence of Israel. That biblical promise is Israel's only claim to legitimacy. It does no good to anyone to brush this fact, uncomfortable as it might be, under the table. Faisal Bodi is a Muslim journalist. comment@guardian.co.uk. Rattling the Cage: Why we're so unpopular. Given the way Israel behaves now, it’s pretty sad to remember that it was envisioned as a country where the Jews ran their own national affairs – but nobody else’s.

Now it’s not enough for Israel to have its own coast, its own territorial waters, its own airspace – no, we’ve got to control Gaza’s coast, Gaza’s territorial waters, Gaza’s airspace, too. The Gaza Strip is part of our sphere of influence. Let any Turkish ship, Libyan ship or any other ship we don’t like try to sail into Gaza, and they’ll get a taste of gunboat diplomacy, Israeli-style. Let anyone try to fly a plane in or out of Gaza and they’ll be at the mercy of the Israel Air Force. Is this what any decent, fair-minded, peace-loving Zionist ever had in mind?

We’ve gone from being a Jewish state to being a Jewish mini-empire. A Jewish hegemon. We fly spy planes over Lebanon on a daily basis. Why? But the Arabs are weak and we’re strong, so we get away with it. And we wonder why we’re not so popular in the world? History. Settlements. Israeli document: Gaza blockade isn't about security | McClatchy (Build 20100722155716) JERUSALEM — As Israel ordered a slight easing of its blockade of the Gaza Strip Wednesday, McClatchy obtained an Israeli government document that describes the blockade not as a security measure but as "economic warfare" against the Islamist group Hamas, which rules the Palestinian territory. Israel imposed severe restrictions on Gaza in June 2007, after Hamas won elections and took control of the coastal enclave after winning elections there the previous year, and the government has long said that the aim of the blockade is to stem the flow of weapons to militants in Gaza.

Last week, after Israeli commandos killed nine volunteers on a Turkish-organized Gaza aid flotilla, Israel again said its aim was to stop the flow of terrorist arms into Gaza. However, in response to a lawsuit by Gisha, an Israeli human rights group, the Israeli government explained the blockade as an exercise of the right of economic warfare. Israeli "War Crimes" Exposed. After the 2008-2009 war in Gaza, Amnesty International (AI) and Human Rights Watch (HRW) issued reports documenting Israeli “war crimes.” Amnesty’s was titled “22 Days of Death and Destruction.” Human Rights Watch issued three under the titles: “Rain of Fire: Israel’s Unlawful Use of White Phosphorus in Gaza,” “Precisely Wrong: Gaza Civilians Killed by Israeli Drone Launched Missiles,” and “White Flag Deaths: Killing of Palestinian Civilians during Operation Cast Lead.” A fascinating new study by Asher Fredman, “Precision-Guided or Indiscriminate? ,” issued by NGO Monitor and the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs, takes a close look at the claims of these studies, which along with the Goldstone Report, have done so much to tarnish Israel’s image around the world.

November 15th ,1988 In the name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful Palestine, the land of the three monotheistic faiths, is where the Palestinian Arab people was born, on which it grew, developed and excelled.

Thus the Palestinian Arab people ensured for itself an everlasting union between itself, its land, and its history. Resolute throughout that history, the Palestinian Arab people forged its national identity, rising even to unimagined levels in its defense, as invasion, the design of others, and the appeal special to Palestine's ancient and luminous place on the eminence where powers and civilizations are joined. All this intervened thereby to deprive the people of its political independence.

Yet the undying connection between Palestine and its people secured for the land its character, and for the people its national genius. Thus were principles of international legitimacy violated. The State of Palestine is the state of Palestinians wherever they may be. Main History Page.
