Submissions. Author Guidelines ProposalsThe editors welcome the opportunity to discuss preliminary proposals with potential contributors by email. Please see the contact address given in the call for papers for that issue. Articles must be original work. Authors must be prepared to grant copyright in the article to the TEI Consortium—while retaining the right to redistribute and make derivative works—using the author agreement. The journal will license articles under a Creative Commons Attribution-No Derivs 3.0 Unported License. File format The journal accepts submissions in a word-processor file format (OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, etc.) or in an XML format.

CompositionSubmissions should be in English with US spelling and follow the the Chicago Manual of Style (16th ed.) for punctuation, citation styles, and other matters apart from spelling. Submissions should have the following components in this order: TEI Consortium. 2001. Stylesheet. Base Tag Set for Drama. This base tag set is intended for use when encoding printed dramatic texts, screen plays or radio scripts, and written transcriptions of any form of performance.

Section 10.1 Front and Back Matter discusses elements, such as cast lists, which can appear only in the front or back matter of printed dramatic texts. Section 10.2 The Body of a Performance Text discusses the structural components of performance texts: these include major structural divisions such as acts and scenes (section 10.2.1 Major Structural Divisions); individual speeches (section 10.2.2 Speeches and Speakers); stage directions (section 10.2.3 Stage Directions); and the elements making up individual speeches (section 10.2.4 Speech Contents). Section 10.2.5 Embedded Structures discusses ways of encoding units which cross the simple hierarchic structure so far defined, such as embedded songs or masques.
