Fauteuil Paulistano cuir de Paulo Mendes da Rocha pour Objekto. Dessiné en 1957 par Paulo Mendes da Rocha, le fauteuil Paulistano a meublé pendant de longues années les salons du Club d'Athlétisme de São Paulo, lui-même conçu par l'architecte brésilien. Le concept constructiviste de la structure, composée d'une unique barre d'acier pliée, et son assise, en cuir ou en coton, procurent à ce fauteuil une légèreté esthétique et un confort incomparable.
Edité en petites séries au fil des années (à peine 350 pièces dans le monde), le fauteuil Paulistano surgit du passé pour montrer que la pureté et l'élégance de ses lignes sont intemporelles : un chef-d'œuvre. En partenariat avec Paulo Mendes da Rocha, Objekto a décidé d'éditer ce fauteuil exceptionnel. Produit à une plus grande échelle, ce fauteuil ne sera plus seulement un objet convoité par les collectionneurs, mais une pièce accessible à tous. Venice Architecture Biennale 2010: this stepped wooden pavilion by Irish studio dePaor Architects is on show at the Venice Architecture Biennale.
Called 4am, a sheet of pleated linen covers the walls and ceiling of the scented softwood frame. Visitors walk up the steps of the pavilion to a half landing, only to descend almost immediately. The project was presented in the Palazzo delle Esposizioni in the Giardini of Venice. The Venice Architecture Biennale continues until 21 November. Photographs are by Alice Clancy.
