SPEAKING two languages rather than just one has obvious practical benefits in an increasingly globalized world.
But in recent years, scientists have begun to show that the advantages of bilingualism are even more fundamental than being able to converse with a wider range of people. Being bilingual, it turns out, makes you smarter. It can have a profound effect on your brain, improving cognitive skills not related to language and even shielding against dementia in old age. This view of bilingualism is remarkably different from the understanding of bilingualism through much of the 20th century.
Researchers, educators and policy makers long considered a second language to be an interference, cognitively speaking, that hindered a child’s academic and intellectual development. Or a similar message in Pokemon Emerald: Firstly, this will not affect you saving the game, and has nothing to do with the "The 1M sub-circuit board is not installed" error message.
Many people are under the impression that time-of-day influenced certain evolutions - such as Wurmple to Silcoon / Cascoon. This is in fact false, these evolutions are based on a random programming factor. The only thing in game that the time affects is growing berries and tides. Certain areas of the game are only accessible at high (or low) tide. And the fix? The fix is surprisingly simple. However, the easiest method by far is to go to the "Options" menu in VBA, then "Emulator" -> "Real Time Clock". I'm using the SDL version, I have no menus!
Not to worry, if you have the SDL version of VisualBoy Advance then navigate to the directory where the executable is stored. To turn the Real-Time Clock on, change it to read: Read other guides by Matty : VBA Link over internet with a Router. VBA running too slow ? Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen. Shoal Cave/Internal Battery Question - Pokemon Sapphire Version Message Board for Game Boy Advance. So, basically - I haven't played Pokemon in YEARS, but a friend of mine was recently giving away a whole bunch of his old gaming stuff and I managed to snag a copy of Pokemon Ruby.
I had Sapphire years ago and beat it but never bothered finishing the Pokedex since I never knew anyone with Ruby who was willing to trade with me. But now that I can trade with myself, I have a whole new sense of motivation! So, I started a new playthrough of Sapphire a few days ago and I'm now to the point where I've caught/evolved every Pokemon possible (barring trade evos) and I'm ready to hop into Ruby and start grabbing the rest. BUT, I'm afraid I have a problem with Snorunt since the internal battery is dead on both versions of the game. Now, in my Sapphire game, the tide is stuck at high - but my question is: With a dry internal battery, is the tide always stuck at high, or is there a 50-50 chance of a tide freezing one way or another?
