Step 2: Sew together Materials: Tools: The Dogwalker Hat « Redshirt Knitting Blog. This hat is easy to knit, cozy, chic, and casual. Although the design is simple, this is the most popular pattern I have created so far. The hat always gets rave reviews from everyone who has received one! This watch cap-style hat is only 54 stitches around, which makes it a quick knit, with a flexible fit. It’s a perfect choice for a gift when you aren’t sure of the recipient’s exact head measurements. Cascade 220 provides stability and structure, while Cascade Pastaza’s 50% llama content makes it warm and soft. Download the free pattern on Ravelry. The Making of The Small Times Newspaper | LeafClutter. If you've received one of our World's Smallest Packages in the last few months, you've got a genuine copy of The Small Times newspaper in your hands. As part of our recent collaboration with Chronicle Books to produce the World's Smallest Post Service stationery set, we created this itty bitty fictional newspaper. And it's not just the newspaper that's small, but every article and image is tiny themed too! Thanks to Jason Sacher, my wonderful editor at Chronicle Books, for daring to approve the inclusion of this totally unnecessary, but ultimately incredible, addition to the stationery set. Read all about it! Here's what The Small Times looks like all crumpled up in one of our World's Smallest Packages: "You're as cute as a... " Call for Submissions We began with an open call for submissions among our wonderful circle of friends - for articles, advertisements, classifieds, whatever their whimsy might dictate.

Here's the early mockup we used for scale and layout purposes. Extra! When It’s Too Hot To Knit: Laundry « Redshirt Knitting Blog. By Erika, on August 6th, 2009 Another thing I like to do when it isn’t knitting weather is wash my existing knitting. The smaller pieces (hats and gloves) are actually easier for me to wash in winter. Given the correct proximity to the wood stove (about 2 feet), smaller items will dry overnight when I’m burning wood.

Bigger items, like my Drops 103-1 sweater, are more difficult to dry in winter. My home is small, so washing this sweater in winter means constantly stepping over and around it for the 5-6 days it takes to dry. Much easier to wash it in summer, when I can lay it outside on the porch, and out of the way! It still took 5-6 days to dry, but at least it wasn’t under foot. Washing bulky knitting in the humid Pacific Northwest is an exercise in patience. The big local news is the new traffic circle that’s opened in Anacortes. Traffic circles are relatively common here at high-traffic rural intersections. The Dogwalker Hat « Redshirt Knitting Blog. Leafcutter Designs - Projects, Paper Goods & Toys. Knitting Projects | Free Creative Knitting Patterns by Lea Redmond.
