Occupy Long Island | Operation Save Lydia’s Home. 8/2 For immediate release: Lidia’s Eviction Has Been Postponed! Community Rallies Around Neighbor. Yesterday, after a court hearing which our compatriots attended alongside Lidia and her defense attorney Bill Jurow, we received word that Lidia’s eviction (which was originally scheduled for 8/2/12) has been postponed until November 20th 2012. This is an encouraging, small victory! It allows Lidia, her legal team, and the Long Island anti-foreclosure movement to further organize for the defense of her home from what amounts to outright theft by fraudsters.
The Long Island Anti-Foreclosure Working Group will be following and documenting this case as it progresses until its conclusion. We have established relationships, contacts, and organizational structures that will serve us well in mobilizing future resistance against theft by criminal banks and their allies in the public and private sector.
