FUCK money! | Micael Dahlen. We’re in a global recession right now. And we’ll probably be so for the next couple of years, maybe five, maybe even a decade or two (unless the IMF changes the definition of what a global recession really is). And I think it’s fantastic. At least in the part of the world where I (and most likely you, too) spend most of my time. We’re doing well enough here, moneywise. In fact, we’re doing too well. I’ve been fiddling with the term FUCKONOMICS for some time now, in the end it might come a book or something out of it.

One thing that would probably happen is that we’d care more about each other. In a recent experiment, people were told to think about how much money they have (and write down an estimate), before being asked to help a stranger. We’ve conducted other similar studies, and quite a few others have, too, which basically show that money makes us fucked up as human beings. I think the thing is that money has overstayed its welcome as a help.
