Creating Warped Text In Photoshop. Written by Steve Patterson. In this Photoshop Type tutorial, we'll look at Photoshop's built-in Warp Text options and how they make it easy to twist, stretch and distort type into all kinds of interesting shapes, all while keeping our type, as well as the warping effect itself, completely editable! The Warp Text options have been around for quite a while now, first introduced way back in Photoshop 6, and while the results we get from them may not have the same wow factor as many of the more advanced text effects out there, they do offer some important and impressive advantages. First, no matter which warping option we choose, the text itself remains 100% live, editable type, which means we can go back and edit the text whenever we need to.
That's a huge advantage over most of the more advanced text effects we can create since they usually force us to convert our text into either pixels or vector shapes, at which point we lose the ability to edit the text. Photoshop: Ability to perspective transform text layers without rasterizing and converting to shape. Perspective Text. Let’s say you want to create some text that looks as though it is disappearing off into the distance. If you notice, you cannot transform text with perspective transform function. The Photoshop Playbook: 50 Short Video Tutorials on Fundamental Skills in Photoshop. Photoshop Effects: recreate the look of a medium format portrait. When I first got in to photography, which wasn't quite 100 years ago, there were three reasonably clear groups of camera user.
The happy snappers used compacts, the enthusiasts used SLRs and the professionals used medium, or large, format. If you were a really 'serious' amateur, and every club had at least one of these Yodas, you might have got yourself a medium format system, using 6x4.5cm, 6x6cm or even 6x7cm frames of 120 roll film. If you were a professional wedding or landscape photographer you wouldn't have dreamt of using a 35mm SLR, for credibility reasons as much as for quality, and a happy snapper wouldn't have known which end of a 35mm SLR or medium format camera to look through.
Not much of that has meant a great deal in the last eight or so years, and the lines between what is professional equipment and what is amateur are exceedingly blurred. 30 Photoshop secrets to improve your skills.
