Petal Pusher Pockets. Holidays Fit for the King is coming up this weekend!

Petal Pusher Pockets

I'm SO excited! This year our committee is wearing petal pushers made by Lindsey from The Pleated Poppy. When I was trying to decide how to give these yummy little goodies to our group I was stumped. How do you wrap this up? I discovered this tutorial that I really wanted to try, but for the life of me could not figure it out... humph! Let me suggest that you make these with someone around because these are definitely squeal-worthy and you'll want to show them off! Draw a square the size of the odd shaped gift (mine was a 3 inch square). Grab something with a good arch (I used an embroidery hoop) and draw in the arches. Here's what the design looks like before you cut it out: Oh I can't wait to wrap up these beauties!

Trace the template on to double sided card stock then hole punch the tops of the four "petals". Line up the holes in three of the petals and thread a piece of ribbon through. I really don't mind if the wrapping paper is being ripped off afterwards, I simply enjoy spending a lot of time and thought on making a present look as pretty as possible. I had weddings in mind at the time. The colored versions are examples of what they look like colored. Magic Boxes: A Life As Lou Online Class. Due to popular demand, I am doing a tutorial on the Magic Boxes I showed off in some previous posts.

To begin, choose your paper. You need six sheets of matching paper (preferably a heavier weight). Choose one for your outside, budgeting for a contrasting one for your lid, and 4 to create the inside boxes. Cut as follows (all measurement are in inches): Outside: 6 x 11 3/4ths. One year. Today is the one-year anniversary of my etsy shop. i hope it's not overdramatic or strange to say that i'm finding it almost as difficult to reflect back on the last year as i found it to reflect back on my son's first year of life. so much happens and changes in a year. our orientations toward things and events and life itself change. we move. we rethink. some things we wish we could redo. some things we wish we could relive.

Favor Boxes by Paper Orchid Stationery. Gift Box. Gift Box This box made from two bills. The bills/box can be the gift itself, but it is also just about the right size for a ring box. (Perhaps a dollar-bill ring?) Get yourself two fairly new, crisp bills. Older "soggier" bills are much harder to work with. Lay the bill on a flat surface, face up. Fold the note top-to-bottom just to the right of the portrait, then unfold. Starting at the top left corner (as illustrated), close the top third fold to about 90 degrees.

Inside this corner will be a remaining portion that you will crease along the natural 45 degree line to complete the corner. How to make gift bags from newspaper. When I bought something at a store recently, the clerk handed me my purchase in a bag made from a newspaper.

How to make gift bags from newspaper

I liked it very much and had to make some more—thus today's DIY recycled newspaper project: gift bags made from the Wall Street Journal. You can vary the dimensions, of course, but here's what I used to create a bag that's 5" tall, 4.5" wide, and 3" deep. Stack two sheets of newspaper on top of each other. This will be a two-ply bag for extra sturdiness. Cut out a rectangle that's 15.5" wide and 8.25" tall. Fold a flap 1.25" down from the top. Cut two pieces of cardstock or chipboard to 4.25" x 1", then glue them on the widest two panels just under the top fold. Put glue on the outside of the 0.5" tab and bring the left-most panel over to form the body of the bag, aligning the cut edge of the panel with the folded edge of the flap.
