Drawing Still Life - How to Draw Still Life
In this lesson you will practice drawing complex shapes, in which you can easily recognize the basic shapes learned in previous lessons. Remember the composition and the proportions lessons. Build the objects, using your experience from previous lessons. Notice that the bowl, is actually a half-sphere, the middle jug is a combination of a sphere and cones, the right jug is a combination of cylinders. Notice the light and shade of the objects and also the shades on the table and the wall. Remember to always work in parallel on all objects.

Once you've refined all the facial features and are happy with what you see, erase the pencil grid. Now you can add the neck, shoulders, and hair. In general, the shoulders should be wide enough to support three heads.

First... use your pencil to sketch in your drawing... then use the marker to darken the lines you want to keep (if you don't use a marker... press harder and tilt your pencil up more to make a darker pencil line). Once you've done this... erase the lighter pencil lines you no longer need.
