If you submitted music for the contest, first of all, thank you, and second, please bear with us while we come to a decision on the final song list. There are many songs to sort through. We should be contacting winners within a week.

HijiNKS ENSUE – A Geek Webcomic – 5 Days A Week - geek comic, geek webcomic, geek pop culture comic

Hey, Seattle Fancy Bastards! I will be in your wonderfully overcast hamlet this weekend! Emerald City Comicon is without a doubt my favorite convention of the year and I am entirely too psyched to be exhibiting at it once again. Even though the website and the program say I will be at booth 307, I will actually be at booth 306 (just around the corner) with Blind Ferret . http://hijinksensue.com/

Axe Cop

http://axecop.com/ My friends Gregory Weidman and Kenny Champman did a four-page guest episode which I am running this week and next to help me get caught up. It seems like in both web comics I am working on a major apocalypse is taking place and those kinds of things are a lot of work to draw. Anyway, I apologize for another break in "the Dogs", but I need it! Check out Greg and Kenny's comic the Ray Gun.
Haha, this happened to Yuko more than once on the West coast! People seem to be super friendly and ready to compliment and chat with you, which startled us. It was nice and we got used to it!

...and I would desperately like to post more very soon, but making bad update predictions repeatedly is probably the worst thing I can do. I apologize for doing that. Let's just say I'll be doing my best with the time I have, and leave it at that.

New Super Effective !? It seems like months! Probably because it has been. I tell ya, this past little while has been just exhausting.
http://www.secretfriendsociety.com/index.php Flight Volume 8 is in bookstores now ! It is the last book in the series, and I bid Flight farewell with one last Jellaby story, “Who Needs Friends?” (the preview above is of the first 4 pages.) The title is a little bit of an in-joke with some of the Flight crew, but the story itself (and what Jason learns in the end) is a reflection on what Flight has meant to me over the years. It’s no coincidence that the first Jellaby story ever published was in the pages of Flight (years before the first graphic novel), and a definite highlight for me over the years have been the relationships I’ve formed — both personal and professional — with this wonderfully talented and crazy group of people who have really pushed me to become a better artist, and simply, a better person. I’m proud to have been a part of this group of people, and especially proud to look on them as my extended family.

Caffeinated Toothpaste - josh bauman's daily diary strip

I haven’t mentioned it thus far, but I’m half way through a one-week break from my regular English teaching. It couldn’t have come at a better time, what with all of the post-fundraising work that I’ve been catching up on. It has been a ton of fun working full days in the studio and knowing when I leave for the evening that I’ll be back first thing the next morning. http://www.caffeinatedtoothpaste.com/
This weekend's Emerald City Comic Con is our favorite comic convention, and not just because it takes place ten minutes from our houses. Now at three (well, two and a half) days, it is one of the family-friendliest and best-run comics show around, and unlike many larger shows it is mostly about comics , with scads of my favorite creators. Unshelved will be there at booth 206 with SMBC 's Zach Weiner and Not Invented Here 's Jeff Zugale. Gene will be debuting his new book Poopy Claws . And because it's our home show we plan to have literally everything in our store for sale, plus a few extras (buttons!), with great conference pricing all around.

Hyperbole and a Half

Some people have a legitimate reason to feel depressed, but not me. I just woke up one day feeling sad and helpless for absolutely no reason. It's disappointing to feel sad for no reason.
